Chapter 6

Marinette woke up at the sound of crying coming from across the hall. She jumped out of bed and ran down the hall to Emits room. She ran over to his crib and found him crying. She picked him up and rocked him back and fourth and bounced a little as she sang him a lullaby.

"Hush little baby don't say a word, mamas gonna give you a mockingbird." She sang. The crying woke everyone else up and they all groaned and walked to Emits room. Marinette sat in the rocking chair and rocked back and fourth gently. "And if that mockingbird don't sing mamas gonna buy you a diamond ring." She sang as the class lined the hallway and listened in. "And if that diamond ring turns brass, mamas gonna buy you a looking glass. And if that looking glass gets broke, mamas gonna buy you a billy goat." She hummed the rest of the song and soon Emit was asleep.

She stood up slowly and put Emit in his crib and he started crying again, missing his mothers touch. "Oh god." Alix muttered as she held her pillow to her face and yelled.

Marinette picked Emit up and and rocked him again and sat in the rocking chair and picked up the song where she left off. "And if that billy goat don't pull mamas gonna buy you a cart and bull. If that cart and bull turn over mamas gonna buy you a dog named Rover. And if that dog named Rover won't bark, mamas gonna buy you a horse and cart. And if that horse and cart fall down, you'll still be the sweetest little baby in town. Hush little baby, don't say a word, daddy loves you and so do I." Emit fell asleep again and Marinette smiled and put Emit back into his crib and he cried again.

The class sighed while Marinette picked him up again and rocked him back and fourth in the chair. "Poor Marinette." Rose cooed while the class groaned.

"Be more sympathetic!" Juleka whisper yelled.

"Just go back to bed, I'll help handle this." Adrien walked into Emits room to see Marinette rocking Emit back and fourth. The class went back to bed while he softly smiled at Marinette and she smiled back. "How's he doing?" Adrien asked as he kneeled next to the chair.

"He's doing fine but every time I put him down in his crib he starts crying. I guess I can't put him down." Marinette giggled as she rocked him back to sleep and kept rocking him while he was asleep. Her eyes grew heavy and Adrien pursed his lips.

"Why don't I rock him for a little bit?"

"N-no I got it." Marinette opened her eyes and smiled at him.

"I can see you're exhausted Marinette. I can take care of him."

"Just a few more minutes."

"A few more minutes and you'll collapse from exhaustion." Adrien chuckled softly and Emit stirred awake and giggled at his parents. "Hi buddy."

"Hi Emi. Why don't you go to sleep and don't cry in the morning." Emit nodded like he understood and soon fell asleep. Marinette put him in his crib and he didn't cry, he only held his hand into a fist and breathed easily as he slept. They sighed happily at their son and Marinette rested her head on his shoulder.

"He's so cute."

Marinette giggled in agreement. "Buddy? Every dad calls their son buddy."

"What about Emi? Doesn't every mom add an e onto their sons name."

"Yeah but it's cute with his." Marinette giggled then yawned. "Can we go back to bed?"

"Yeah." Adrien yawned afterwards and they went back to their room. They lied down and went to sleep and woke up hours later. Marinette went to Emits room and found him wide awake in his crib but not crying.

"You're an odd baby." Marinette giggled and picked him up. She cradled him in her arms while the class gathered by The door and lined the hallway. "Hungry?" He babbled happily and Marinette giggled again and fed him, everyone but the only person who should see it looked away. She pulled down her shirt and burped him and he giggled after he did.

"Morning." Alix yawned as she walked down the hall to Emits room fully dressed. "Someone's already a ladies man!"

"Not funny Alix." Marinette rolled her eyes.

"He thinks it is." Alix laughed while Emit giggled. Marinette sighed and handed him to Alix.

"Since you're so good at amusing him and you're already dressed, you keep him busy while the rest of us get dressed."

"What? I'm not good with-"

"You'll have too!" Everyone called out and went to their rooms and got dressed. Alix groaned and took Emit to the dinning room with a few toys and played with him while the others got ready. While in her junior year of high school she got a nose piercing.

"Uh hey Emit." Alix nervously laughed as Nathanael and Kim came down the stairs. They heard her talking and peaked through the door. "I seriously don't know what to do with you." She sighed as he tugged on her piercing. "Uh no no no. That hurts." He took away his hand and he whimpered. "But I do have a pig!" She held up a small pig toy with big eyes and he smiled and reached for it. She held the pig above him and he giggled and cooed with he played with it as much as she let him with a risk of him dying. "If you like this pig there's a bigger one getting dressed."

Juleka walked into the room after Kim and Nathanael pushed her inside and she rolled her eyes. "Hey Alix. How's he doing?" She sat next to her.

"Good I guess. I'm not good with kids." She laughed as Emit took the pig from her hand and held it under his armpit. Even if he was born just a few days earlier, he was a smart kid already.

"Neither am I." Juleka laughed. Emit looked at her and babbled on and cooed. "Hey Emit." She held his tiny fist and smiled. "I seriously don't see why people can hate children." The class listened in by both of the double door sets,

"Ask my brother." Alix laughed. "He loved reading about kid kings and queens but doesn't want to have one. His wife is nagging him about it but he doesn't want one."

"Weird. I want kids when I find the right guy, or girl. What about you?" Juleka asked. She was openly bisexual.

"Yeah. I want kids but I'm not good with 'em."

"Same." Juleka laughed and Emit giggled with them. "He's a smart baby. I think he even knows what we're talking about."

"Maybe. I mean Marinette and Adrien got the best grades behind Max, of course all their kids will smart and gorgeous."

"Yeah." Juleka laughed while Emit started crying. "Shit. What do we do?"

"Uhm okay I think Rose said the three things a baby would cry for is sleep, they're hungry or they need a diaper change."
