Adrien smiled at his son as he played with Marinettes hair as she's rocked him back and forth on the rocking chair in his room. She sang him Happy Birthday since it was Emits second birthday and new castors were coming in an hour. He leaned against the doorway and smiled at her. "Mommy." Emit hummed and Marinette smiled.
"Hi Emy. I love you baby." She kissed Emits head and he giggled. She stood up and carried him to the dresser and sat him down on top and gave him a toy. She pulled out an outfit for him and changed him and he giggled. "There you go Emit." She smiled and put him in his playpen. "Mommy will be right back, I just need to change."
"Oh-oh mommy." Emit smiled and Marinette walked out of the room and quickly changed into a yellow t-shirt and black jeans with black combat boots. She let her hair down and walked back to his room while Adrien walked passed her on the hall. He grabbed her hand and she looked at him.
"Marinette do you, do you hate me?"
"What? No. Why would I?"
"We rarely talk anymore and you always seem scared around me. I changed Marinette, you can trust me."
"I-I know and I'm just trying to get used to it. You haven't really been this nice since we were fifteen and I just need to get used to this." She smiled at him and he pursed his lips, knowing the smile was fake.
"Marinette, what's really going on?" He held both of her hands and she blinked.
"I-it's nothing Adrien, okay. I'm just tired."
"That's what you said last time you acted like this. Please, tell me." He begged her.
"I-it's just hard having you here now. I know it's been half a year but I just, I just don't can't get used to it. I've been taking care of Emit on my own and I got used to that." She bit her lip and Adrien looked at her, emotions filling his eyes.
"A-are you saying you want a divorce?"
"What no!" Adrien relaxed a tiny bit.
"Then what're you saying?" He lifted a brow, worrying going through his eyes.
"I just got used to being by myself. I'll be fine I just need to get used to you being here now. I'll be fine, promise." She smiled and Adrien kissed her forehead slowly.
He lifted his lips from her forehead. "Okay but just, please, don't scare me anymore. Like I said before I can't be without her you in my life." He smiled at her and she smiled back.
"Don't worry, I won't, unless I like really need too." She smiled and he kissed her slowly, like he did when they first kissed while Nathanael walked down the stairs from his workspace, holding Emits birthday present. He smiled that Marinette was happy but he still loved her.
he cleared his throat and laughed. "Find a room you two." He walked into his room, a cloth over the painting and put it on his bed while he changed from his painting clothes. Marinette blushed and kissed Adriens cheek before walking into Emits room and take care of him. An hour later they answered questions about Emit and held his birthday party, Adrien smiling more then he ever had in a while.

Marinette laughed as Adrien held Emit in the air and made airplane noises. Emit giggled as Adrien gently swung him around and swung his arms around, pretending to be a plane with him. "Adrien, what're you doing?"
"What? I can't make him a plane?" Adrien laughed as he put Emit on his hip.
"Plane!" Emit giggled and Marinette smiled.
"Yeah buddy, you're a plane." She kissed his forehead and Emit giggled more. There was a loud crash outside and Marinettes face grew to worry. "Now? It's been so long."
Adrien darted his eyes back and forth from Emit to the window. No one else was home. "Marinette, you stay here and I'll deal with this." He handed Emit to her and she blinked.
"What?! No! You need me!"
"No one else is home and we can't leave him alone. Plagg, Claws Out!" He said and bolted out the window before Marinette could fight with him more. She sighed and looked out the window and bit her lip.
"Please be safe." She whispered as she saw him get thrown pass a field. She winced and shook her head. "I'm sorry Adrien but I can't let you do this alone." She put Emit in his playpen and transformed, kissing the top of his head afterwards. "I'll be back Emit, stay here."
"O-oh mommy." He smiled and she smiled back and jumped out the window and joined Chat in the fight.
He was about to get hit when Ladybug took the hit for him, his face turning to horror. "Ladybug! What're you doing!"
"Helping you! Duh!" She yelled back and fought the Akuma. Chat growled and fought with her and in thirty minutes they had beaten him. They swung back home and Chat turned back into Adrien as he watched Ladybug pick EMit up and change back to Marinette.
"What were you thinking! leaving Emit all alone! He could've gotten hurt!" Adrien yelled at her and she rolled her eyes.
"He's safe now isn't he? Relax Adrien, I know it was a bad thing to do but he's safe now and you needed help. I had to make a choice." She put Emit on her hip while he hugged Gabriel the bear.
"Damn right it was a bad idea! Who knows what could've happened to him if we weren't here!" Adrien balled his hands into fists and Marinette took a step back, putting Emits head on her shoulder.
He stormed over to her and she backed up against the wall, her lips trembled and sneakily let out a breath. "Adrien, you're scaring me." Her voice quivered and he took a step back and took a deep breath.
"I-I'm sorry but it's just, Emit, he's just a baby."
"I know. I won't do it again but you needed help. Next time, you stay here and I fight." Adriens jaw dropped as she walked out of the room, a determined smile on her face. She wasn't going to let him do it again where she stayed at home and took care of Emit while he fought and got them money. She wanted her own life, and it starts with Emit and Adrien letting her be free.
She walked into her office and started work gin on a design for Gabriel while emit played in the playpen in her office and she smiled every time he giggled. She put on classical music and soon enough Emit fell asleep and she put him in his room and continued working.
She finished the designs and made them in six hours. All four outfits, completed with accessories and shoes to match them. She packed them up and sent Adrien to give them to Gabriel and he came back a few hours later, a note in hand. "So, did he like them?" She asked, her voice shaky.
"Read it and weep." He handed her the note and she smiled.
Dear Ms.Marinette,
Your designs are impressive and I could use your talent and skills in my next fashion line, like I am now.
Use your talent to take over my business once you've earned the spot.
Get your business degree and make me four more outfits and then we'll see if you are fit to run my business.Sincerely,
Gabriel AgresteMarinette smiled as she looked at the note and skinned in a circle, squealing. Adrien laughed as he then realized he wouldn't get the business anymore and a sudden weight was lifted off his shoulders, then a little more added when he realized he would most likely be a stay at home father.
