Chapter 27

Marinette waved off her roommates as they all got in their cars and drove to their campus. Nathanael got off early along with the rest of the people who took his course so he waved them off with her. They walked inside the house and Nathanael bit his lip and scratched the back of his neck. "A-About yesterday Marinette." He blushed at the thought.

"It was a mistake. That's all it was. Adrien is getting better for me and Emit, I can't be disloyal with him." She bit her lip and didn't face him.

"How can you still like that douche! He abused you! He hurt you in a way no man should have!" Nathanael yelled at her and she flinched as her mind made his voice sound like Adriens. "What the hell is wrong with you! How can you still love him after all he did!" His voice grew softer when he saw how scared she was.

"I-I'm sorry." She whimpered as she took a step back from him.

Nathanael sighed and held her hands in his. "I should be sorry. I shouldn't have tried to kiss you and I shouldn't have yelled at you."

"I shouldn't have kissed you in the hallway. If Adrien finds out h-he w-would..." She froze at the thought of endless possibilities of what Adrien would do to either of them.

"Why don't we agree that it never happened." Nathanael nervously laughed and Marinette nodded. She took her hands away from his and quickly walked away to her room and looked at all of her pictures of her and Adrien and a few of Emit. There was a knock on the door and she walked to the door to find Nathanael answering it. "Hello?"

"Hi I'm here for my shift." Bridgette smiled at them.

"Oh, Bridgette. You're early." Marinette smiled and Nathanael let her in. "Can you help me clean the kitchen?"

"I'll clean the kitchen. It's what I'm here for." She smiled at her and walked into the kitchen and started to clean. Marinette smiled, it slowly dropping as silence crowded her and Nathanael.

"Nathanael I-" He crashed his lips into hers and she melted into him. She rested her arms over his shoulder while he held her waist and he rested his forehead on hers. "N-Nathanael."

"S-sorry Marinette but your just so hypnotic." He nervously laughed and backed away from her. She blushed and bit her lip.

"I just can't cheat on Adrien, Nathanael. I can't and don't want too. He means everything to me." She walked up the stairs and to her room while Bridgette smirked at the voice recording she just got.

She stopped the recording and called Felix. "Fe, I just got something we could use against her."

"What Bridgette?" Felix laughed.

"Marinettes having an affair with Nathanael." She smirked as Felix choked on air.

"What? That nerd?" He shouted at her.

"He's not a nerd anymore. He's actually kinda hot." She flaunted.

"Hey!"

"You're hot too. And well, she almost did. He kissed her and she said she loved Adrien to much to cheat on him and walked away but I think we can edit the noise to make it say different."

"That's perfect Bridgette! I love you so much babe."

"Love you too Kitty. We can tell the boss later." She hung up and continued cleaning. Nathanael sighed and bit his lip and walked to Marinettes room to find her holding a picture of Adrien and Emit in her hands as she sat on the bed. Emit was still with Nadja and Manon since they offered to have him another day.

"Marinette, I'm, I'm sorry. I know you love Adrien and I keep trying to get with you and I'll stop if you just answer me this. Why didn't you stop me the second time?" Nathanael stayed by the door.

"B-because I liked you. You were gently and sweet while Adrien was so, aggressive with me. He just wanted to get it done fast while you took your time." She bit her lip and put the picture on her nightstand. "You were kind to my body while Adrien, Adrien would've torn it apart."

"Marinette, why do you let him do that if he's hurting you?"

"I-if he's happy I don't mind." She smiled at him and he sighed and sat next to her on her bed.

"You can be happy too you know."

"But others need to be happy more then me. Adrien lost his mother and his father is so mean to him and he basically lived alone his whole life to fend for himself while I had both of my loving parents. He needs happiness more then me."

"But you need happiness too, Marinette." He rubbed her back and she sighed and rested her head on his shoulder.

"I know and I do have happiness." She sighed again and closed her eyes. "I miss Adrien."

"I know you do." He rested his head on hers and mental yelled at himself. He wanted to be in Adriens place in her heart so badly but knew it would never happen. Her and Adrien were destined soulmates while he knew for sure he was soulmates with someone else.

"He's going to come back I just need to wait so I'm sorry Nathanael, I can't be with you." He lifted his head while she lifted hers and looked at her.

"It's okay. I understand your loyalty. I won't get between you two anymore, promise."

"Pinky promise?" Marinette held out her pink.

"Pinky promise." Nathanael laughed as he hooked his pinky with hers.

Adrien got out of the cab and grabbed his things from the trunk. He walked up to the doors or the house and knocked on the door before walking inside. "Marinette? Emit? I'm back." He said as he closed the door behind himself. He sighed and continued walking to his room then felt a pair of arms around his leg. He looked down and saw Emit. "Hey buddy."

"Daddy back!" Emit smiled and Adrien smiled and picked him up. "Daddy back! Daddy back! Daddy back!" He chanted and Adrien smiled bigger and chuckled before hugging his child. He missed his family and roommates so much, even Plagg since he didn't have him for all that time.

"Yeah I'm back Emit." He kissed his tiny kitten nose and Emit giggled. He rested him on his hip and grabbed his bag with the other hand. "Do you know where Mommy is?"

Emit nodded. "She in room." He pointed upstairs and Adrien walked up them and too his room. He slowly opened the door and found a different figure then Marinette in the room but couldn't tell by the lights.

"Marinette I'm b-" He started to turn the lights on when she snapped her head to him and quickly grabbed his hand, still hidden by shadows.

"No lights and I'm not Marinette." Her white teeth glowed in the dark while purple eyes glowed from the bed and a Cheshire like grin floated below them.

"Who are you?" Adrien held Emit tighter.

"Your worst nightmare." His eyes glowed brighter and Adrien gulped and took a step back, dropping his bag and holding Emit tighter as the woman pulled him into the room.
