CHAPTER 13
MY IDOL, MY VENUS, MY MUSE! [PART 2]
“I won’t do anything to her, so please?” I favored.
Honoka was silence for a while, just staring at me, and then looked at her friend.
“Make sure of it,” she warned then head out.
I nodded as a form of thanks then locked the door behind me.
“I’m sorry, does it hurt?” I worriedly asked her after finally letting her go.
“What a lousy act,” she slated. “If you weren’t taking me so tightly anyone would be able to notice your trembling,” she stated as she rubbed her irritated wrist.
“I’m very sorry about that,” I held her hand and rubbed it myself.
“Feeling remorse now for what happened years ago?” she asked me. She was sitting on the table and I’m sitting on the chair looking up to her.
Yes… like some queen on her throne with her admirer, or worst her servant, kneeling in front of her.
“You’re actually having your revenge on me, aren’t you?” I asked her with a short laugh at the beginning. “I’m very sorry for what happened earlier at the hallway and for the past.”
“If only everything can be repaired with a sorry, the populace would’ve been a much better place,” she replied. It’s funny how I said the same thing before.
I know it’s not easy to forgive and insisting on it is annoying. But I have to take chances, I might struck something while I’m apologizing and get to her good side; I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
“I don’t like you anymore,” she declared.
Another strike straight to my heart! I have to man up if I want to continue pursuing her.
“I’ll make you then,” it’s my turn now.
“You know, Naoki,” she rose from the table, “if I won’t be strict with myself I would’ve been swooning for you right now,” she head to the bulletin board in the room where Honoka and Toph pinned random photos, “But people change, and changing is hard.”
I know that. I know that damn good! I don’t want to admit but I think I’ve come to a standstill again.
I stared at her. At the back of mind, I’m thinking of things I could tell her that would lift me up to her level once more.
“It was hard for me too, you know,” she continued, still looking at the photos one by one, “Forcing myself to smile in front of you. But I was glad to know that you idolize Sakura so much as to tell everybody you love her… it made me happy. I even heard you stalked my little sister just to find out who Sakura is.”
Come on, Naoki, think! Say something right now!
Come on, say something!
“I was so stuck up on you that I tried so hard as to conceal my “Sakura” identity from the public,” she even quoted her pen name, “Because every time I hear you say how much you love Sakura,” she took a deep breath and turned around to look at me, “I feel like you’re telling the world how much you love me,” she smiled feebly, “Pretty desperate, right?”
