CHAPTER TWO
I THINK I KNOW WHO SHE IS!
Another day passed on my normal life and just a few more weeks Sakura’s exhibit will be held.
I can say that, that’s the only thing I’m excited about!
“Naoki!” even if I don’t turn around, I’m pretty sure it’s him; the official member #2 of the photography club starting today. “I have something to tell you.”
“Oh, really,” I asked him, not a bit interested.
I mean, he just got here, what news could he possibly bring me that will rock my world?
“It’s about Sakura,” he whispered to me, “she’s studying in our school,” now that’s the news that definitely rocked my world!
Is he serious about this stuff? Where did he even hear that news? What kind of connection does he have in the photography world, to get these kinds of precious information?
“Please Toph. Sakura is my idol, she’s my Venus! Do you think for three years I didn’t scour the whole school for her?” I acted superior to him.
Our school has an escalator system—which means, I studied in the same school since elementary. It’s easier that way since I don’t have to bother to take entrance exams.
I don’t know myself, but I just have this strong belief that Sakura is someone from our school. On what branch and year, that, I don’t know.
“No seriously. The curator of the Da Vinci Hall told me earlier when I stopped by to see how they decorated the venue.”
Da Vinci Hall? That’s our oldest hall! He’s having his exhibit there? I can’t remember well who the curator there was—Dad! He told this foreigner details about Sakura that he kept from me, his very own flesh and blood, for the whole three years?
Tsk, unbelievable! Just unbelievable; Talk about blood is thicker than water.
“So did you get anything aside from that information?” since I can’t get anything useful from my own father, I decided to make use of him to find Sakura.
“The curator told me that she’s fun to be with, but sometimes acts weird,” he started, “Like one time, they were having a drink at a garden café and Sakura fed the ants that were trailing up the branch of a tree near her. Stuffs like that,” Toph told me then made a face.
Feeding the ants? Now that is really weird! I’m still in my second year and the only “weird” person I’ve encountered who holds a camera is Honoka, but she uses the newest SLR camera there is.
There is another one, Chiyo, but I never saw her pick up anything heavier than a paintbrush. And she’s not that physically fit to trek to some mountain just to take a picture of the landscape.
“Who could it be?” I whispered, my forehead all wrinkled up.
“Good morning!” by the time I came back to reality, Toph excitedly greeted the whole class when we arrived.
“Good morning,” I greeted them as well.
“Hey dude, what’s wrong?” Jae came up to me.
