CHAPTER 10

TOPH’S EXHIBIT AND THE GIRL WHO CRIED IN FRONT OF ME!

A girl I’ve never seen before is who my aunt is after – a famous photographer whose works has been acknowledged abroad. Just who is she?

“Don’t be rude Naoki!” my aunt glared at me, “You’re Honoka Erlan, right?”

HONOKA ERLAN??!! The weird girl with straight black hair that she always leaves as it is up to her hips with thick black-rimmed glasses? The weird girl who merely speaks a countable number of words and who recently became Toph’s girl? That, Honoka Erlan?

Wait, what happened to the thick glasses? And her eyes, it used to be emerald-like. Not like Toph’s.

“Yes, I am… Lina Graen, I presume?” she asked in a ladylike manner and flashed a smile that made me realize Toph’s feelings for her.

“What happened to the glasses and the eyes?” I whispered.

“Colored contact lenses. Its design for me eyes,” she answered me with a straight face like we didn’t spend the weekend together,

Oh, no wonder Toph’s head over heels for her. She’s such a beauty!

The two of them shook hands then took their seat. I sat beside my aunt, facing Honoka.

“So I’ll cut to the chase,” my aunt sounded serious.

“Sure, I want this to finish early too. I know you’re busy and all,” Honoka answered in a business-like demeanor.

“What are your thoughts after being acknowledged by professionals overseas?”

Acknowledged by professionals? Overseas? Honoka is?! This doesn’t fit well in my knowing! What’s going on here? She’s famous overseas? Does Toph even know about this? Wait… I have to breathe… this is too much information.

“Do you use a different pen name here and abroad?” my aunt’s second question.

                My hands are sweating.

“No, I use the same pen name,” she smiled at us before continuing, “It’s still Sa—ah, excuse me,” Honoka’s phone suddenly rang.

“Who is that, damn it! Sa- what?!” my mind revolted.

“I’m doing an interview Toph… I’ll text you after,” she pressed the end call button and apologized for being unprofessional.

Damn you, Toph!!! The room’s well ventilated but I can feel sweat dripping from my neck and my back.

She went back in front of us and smiled as if nothing happened.

“So as I was saying, your pen name abroad is still—” I feel like my whole world stopped and slowed down, “Sa—y—u—r—i, right?”

Hmmhaa… I took a very deep breath. I nearly passed out; she’s not Sakura, she’s Sayuri.

“Are you okay Naoki?” Aunt Lina turned my way. She must have noticed my heavy breathing.
