Taylor:
My eyes open, and instantly, my stomach fills with that uneasy feeling you get when you wake up in an unfamiliar room. Confused at first, I glance around the enormous bedroom, re-orientating myself. Feeling clumsily around the bedside table for my phone, I switch it on and squint as the bright screen practically blinds me. 10 AM. Rolling over to talk to Harry, I see he's still fast asleep, lying on his stomach with his face sunk into a pillow, and an arm hanging over the side of the bed. I grin and decide against shaking him awake, and reluctantly crawl out of bed.
Rifling through my suitcase, I find a stretchy pair of black high-waisted denim shorts, a white T-shirt to tuck into them, and a big red plaid shirt to wear over the outfit. After having tugged them all on, I splash my face with cold water and decide to go makeup-free for once.
Upon seeing that Harry is still snoring away, I yank open the white curtains, revealing a wall-length window looking upon a glamorous London view.
I finger-comb my hair as I walk down the stairs, and I can hear Adele blasting from the living room. I walk in and see Selena loading kale, berries, and apples into the blender. She looks way sexier than I ever have at this time in the morning, her hair expertly straightened and pulled up into a high ponytail, to show off gold hoop earrings. Countless layers of shimmering gold makeup coat her face and she's in a short black dress, strapless and flaring out around the top of her legs. She hears me walk in and whips around, carrot in hand.
"Oh, hey, Taylor. You scared me! Did you sleep well?"
"Yeah, really great. It's so nice of you and Niall to let us -"
"-No, no don't even mention it. Come on Tay, you're, like, our two best friends. You know you're welcome to stay here for as long as you like."
My whole body warms up as she says this, and I engulf her in a big hug, inhaling the scent of her Dior perfume.
I eventually let go of her and she pours her green smoothie into a jug, offering me a glass. She tosses me a granola bar and we collapse onto the brown leather couch. I lean back and prop my feet up on the glass coffee table, stretching and looking around. The whole house is modern and glassy, with enormous windows and almost exclusively white furniture. Selena reaches out and plays with the end of my hair, sighing.
"Your hair looks so pretty nowadays. That's just the perfect length for you."
In the last few months, my hair's grown past my shoulders, and Selena's fingers brush through it. She giggles,
"Look how cute it is, curling at the ends."
I reach out my own hand and clasp the end of her long, sleek black ponytail.
"Are you kidding, Sel? I've, like, always been jealous of your hair."
I open my mouth to compliment her dress, but all of a sudden the song blasting through the surround-sound speakers changes, transitioning fluently from 'Set Fire To The Rain' to 'Sorry'. Almost instantly, Selena sinks as low as she can into the couch and slaps her hands firmly over her ears, groaning loudly.
I fumble around for Selena's phone and hurriedly skip the song. Selena's own 'Same Old Love' starts playing, and she sits up and sighs, relieved.
"Remind me not to put my music on shuffle again. I just, like, cannot listen to any more Justin. He's all people talk to me about. And I have at least two interviews to get through today. I know Justin's gonna come up at least once in each of them. And he's texting me a lot lately, and I don't know what to say to him, so I just - well, I don't want to get into any of the details. But I just can't take any more of him."
