Love?

I write romantic poetry, but I don't love anyone and no one loves me. I've never had love, and I doubt that I will. Romance is easy to write because I've fallen in love before, but love is just a weakness as much as it is a strength. If that love is taken away from you, or if that love is not returned, you'll break. I broke. I do not need love, but I want love. I want to be held and told how beautiful I look, but what I need is what I already have. Friends to keep me smiling, poetry to keep me thinking, and a family to keep me moving. Love isn't needed. True love doesn't exist.

So why do we all want it so much?
