Mark sat on the rooftop of his parents' home during the warm summer night. He had just turned seventeen a few days previous.

He was in tears. He'd gotten into a big argument with his parents after he'd come out as gay.

They didn't support his sexuality, and he didn't think they would, but he'd hoped they would react more loving to it. But, they didn't.

He lay there on the roof, the asphalt shingles rough, yet pleasant, against his back.

He closed his eyes. He wasn't sleeping, but he was dreaming of what could be. What should be.

He suddenly heart a light thump next to him. He opened his eyes widely, alarmed.

There stood a boy, looking to be between sixteen and eighteen. He had brown hair, along with some light facial hair as well. He wore black gauges, a grey beanie, a maroon colored sweater, and blue jeans. He also had on converse.

"Who are you?" Mark said suddenly, backing away from the strange boy.

"My name is Jack," The boy said proudly, holding out a hand for Mark to shake. Jack smiled widely, "And you are..?"

"Mark..." Mark said hesitantly, shaking Jack's hand slowly, an unsure smile on his face. He pushed up his glasses.

"Nice to meetcha, Mark!" Jack said cheerily.

"Y-Yeah..." Mark said, "Why are you... here? On my roof?"

"Well, you see," Jack began, "I was just flying by when I saw you, and you looked sad so I came over to say hello!"

"You were flying?!" Mark gasped.

"Yep!" He said, his grin glued to his face while Mark was extremely confused.

"What are you?" Mark asked.

"You're full of questions, aren'tcha, Marky?" Jack laughed.

"I guess..."

"Well, I guess you could say I'm kind of a fairy... no, I'm a regular teenage boy - sixteen to be exact - and I just have a little help from some friends back home to allow me to fly. I saw you crying and I wanted to see if I could help!" Jack was beaming.

"I-I..." Mark stuttered, not knowing what to say.

Jack sat next to Mark on the roof, "So, what's wrong?" He asked.

Mark had no idea why he wanted to talk to Jack about this, but he already trusted him. Maybe it was just his emotional state, but he had to let it out somehow.

"Well, I just came out to my parents," Mark said, "I'm gay, by the way, and they aren't as supportive as I thought they'd be. We got into a huge fight and they threatened to kick me out. They're probably talking about me right now."

"Oh, I'm sorry, Mark," Jack said, "The reason why I left my home about a year ago was because I came out as pansexual. They hated me, dumped me on the streets. So, I hid, and my fairy found me and I'm happy again."

"Your fairy..?" Mark questioned.

"Oh, yeah," Jack chuckled, "That's how I can fly, with faith, trust, and a little pixie-dust." /a/n pls don't sue me, disney/

"That's cute," Mark said without thinking.

"Yeah, kinda!  But anyways it changed my life completely, and I'm really happy now! I miss my parents sometimes, but they weren't really positive so I'm also glad they're not a part of my life anymore."

"Yeah, that's probably a good way to look at things."

"Well anyway, would you like to come with me?" Jack asked, "And never have to worry about your problems?"

"Where are you from anyway?" Mark asked.

"A long way away," Jack said, sitting next to Mark and looking at the stars.

"Could you be more specific?" Mark asked, to which Jack explained where he was from. Where he was from, they never aged. Jack had been sixteen for over a year because of this. It was a magical place full of fairies and mermaids and pirates, it sounded amazing.

"So what you do think?" Jack asked.

"Well, I can't just leave," Mark said, "I have my whole life here."

"But you aren't happy," Jack said, "Or at least, it doesn't seem like you are."

"Right now I'm not, but I... I have friends and my brother and, I-I..." Mark stood up, running his hands through his hair. He soon turned around to face Jack, "For God's sake, you and I just met! You're some sort of... magic being that fucking flew up to me! I can't leave."

"Jeez," Jack said, "You didn't have to be that harsh. Fine, if you don't need me, I'll just leave."

Jack stood, looking emotional, getting ready to leave.

"W-Wait..." Mark said. Jack stopped his actions and turned to face Mark, "What if you stay here?"

"Well for one, I live nowhere near here, and for two, my family abandoned me a while ago. They probably forgot about me, and besides, if I were to come back home, I'd never see my fairy again, and I'd never get to do anything for myself ever again," Jack explained.

Mark sighed, "What if you stayed here... with me?"

"You already said it, we just met," Jack said, "You think I'm a freak. Also, your parents aren't happy with you, I don't know how well they'd react if you were to bring me in and try to explain to them where I came from. They wouldn't believe it for a minute. Adults never believe crazy stuff like this."

"You're acting naive," Mark said, "I can't go with you, Jack. I'm sorry."

"And I can't stay here, simple as that. I don't want to start aging again," Jack said, "I like being sixteen. I like where I'm at in my life right now."

"Fine," Mark said, "Just... leave already..."

"Fine," Jack said, "I will."

Then Mark turned around, and before he knew it, there was nothing left but some golden sparkles on the ground which soon faded.

And that was the last Mark ever saw of Jack.
