Red hair spread out spontaneously over her small but beautiful head.
Clary felt very overwhelmed as she looked down at her baby girl.
The baby had been born with green eyes and it looked as if the baby would look like Clary and Jocelyn.
A soft knock on the door alerted Clary to look up.
"Come in," Clary said, curious as to whom was behind the door.
Maia and Jordan entered with May trailing but a foot behind them. Another interesting thing about them was that Maia was showing a large baby bump.
Maia rushed over to Clary and hugged her tightly. Then, as if just realizing the baby, Maia looked down and gushed over the infant.
"She is soooooo adorable!" Maia said. "May, come over here and look at this baby!"
May happily tromped up to her mom and Clary.
May crawled on the bed and petted the baby's head. The two year old turned to her mom. "Can I keep her mom?"
Maia and Clary laughed.
"I'm afraid not, May, but you will be able to watch her with your mommy," Clary said. Her and Maia had scheduled out a plan for Maia to watch the baby as Clary started working as an art teacher at the local school. Clary wanted to be able to support the baby so she decided that she would get a job. Magnus had already supplied her with more than enough clothes- for the first year, that is.
"Otay mommy," May said. Resuming her position of petting the baby's head.
Jordan all the while just awkwardly stood in the door way, hands in his pockets casually.
Suddenly Jocelyn burst through the door, Chloe trailing sleepily behind her.
"What did I miss?" Jocelyn asked, running to her daughter.
Clary told her mom about how she had tried calling four numbers.
Isabelle, Maia, Jocelyn and Jace.
At the mention of Jace, Clary burst into tears.
He didn't pick up, of course. His phone had been lost in the fire and she was certain that he would not ever get a new one.
Just then, a nurse came in. At the sight of Clary's tears, the nurse turned to walk away.
But Clary held her hand out, "No, no! Everything is fine."
The nurse turned and reluctantly walked back into the room, camera in hand.
She took a picture of a tired looking Clary with her new baby girl.
Then she asked, "So what are you naming her?"
Clary thought about it. She was a shadow hunter an she knew that shadow hunting kids are generally named after someone in their family.
"If you could just give me a moment please," Clary said, not unkindly.
"Of course," the nurse said with a fake but sweet smile plastered onto her face.
Jocelyn turned to Clary. "Oh, how silly of me! I almost forgot to give you this."
She held out a paper that had been rolled up. May climbed onto the hospital bed again. This time Maia didn't even try to stop her. "What's that?!" she asked excitedly.
Clary smiles at her. "I don't know, lets look and see."
She opened it up and saw that it was "The Fairchild Family Tree".
She searched through all of the names. And she found only one that stuck to her mind. She later realized that it was the name that Jace said he would name his daughter. It was perfect.
"Charlotte," she cooed into the pink blanket.
The baby looked up at her, eyes twinkling. Clary knew that that was the name that her daughter would have.
Charlotte Isabelle Fairchild Herondale.
So the baby was born. Charlotte will be her name but since its long, if you could please comment and say an idea you have on how it could be shortened, that would help out so much! Thank you for reading and get ready because the end of Part 1 is nearing and it will be some dramatic stuff that will continue into part 2. Also, give me ideas for who would be the cast of this story when the kids are older. Thanks. <3<3<3
