Jace's baby moniter beeped again.

He reluctantly sat up in bed. He knew exactly which room it would be in again. So he walked to Stephen's room.

When he got there, he saw a figure already standing infront of the crib. He figured that it was Tessa. As a great grandmother of Stephen, she figured that she would start helping out.

"Oh, you got him Tess? Thanks," Jace said in a sleepy hoarse voice.

But then she turned around.

"Hello Jace," Isabelle said.

"Isabelle? You're back!" Jace said happily.

He went to hug her and she hugged him back. "I missed you, Jace."

"Yeah, I missed you too," Jace said. Then another thought dawned on him. "Is Clary with you too?"

He said it in a whisper. Not wanting to get his hopes up but not being able to pull them down.

"No, but I am." An ice cold voice said.

Jace knew automatically who it was, but to make sure, he turned around.

"Sebastian." Jace said. His voice holding no emotion.

"Oh dear brother," Sebastian started.

"Don't call me brother." Jace said coldly.

"Ouch that hurt," Sebastian said, holding a hand to his hurt in mock pain. "Anyway, we know where Clary is."

"Clary?" Jace whispered.

"Ahem, yes, speak up dear brother." Sebastian said.

"Oh dear brother," Jace said with sweetness sarcastically. "Shut up now."

"Nope. Not gonna happen." Sebastian said.

Jace couldn't stand it any longer. He whispered to Isabelle, "Stay back and protect Stephen and if I'm killed I'll leave my sons in your will."

Isabelle shoved Stephen into Jace's arms and walked next to Sebastian.

She put her arms around him, turned her head up and kissed him.

"Um. Ew," Jace said impatiently.

"Join us," Isabelle said when she finally moved her lips from Sebastian's.

"Us?" Jace asked.

"There are two of us. Yes. And we want you to join us," Sebastian explained.

"Never." Jace said solidly.

"Will you at least give me a chance to tell you what it is that we're doing?" Sebastian asked.

"Nope," Jace said casually, popping the 'p'.

Isabel muttered something to Sebastian and he nodded his head yes.

"Sorry Jace, but either we take you, or your sons. We figured that you'd want it to be you." Isabelle said as she punched Jace.

Jace barely felt anything. When it came to his sons nothing else mattered.

Jace offered her his wrists. Just tie me up. Isabelle was a bit shocked but the. She tied him up and pushed him out the door.

Jace knew that he could fight of Isabelle and Sebastian, then make enough noise to get a resident to come get him.

Jace prepared to fight when Stephen ran up and hugged Jace.

"Don't leave Daddy!" he cried.

In that moment, Sebastian did exactly the worst thing that he could've done.

It all seemed to happen in slow motion.

Sebastian kicked Stephen away from Jace and muttered a curse word at the crying toddler. And Isabelle told Stephen to grow up.

Stephen locked eyes with Jace and in that moment, he looked so much like Clary when Jace first met her.

Helpless and weak but with a great potential and a fire burning in those green eyes.

Jace couldn't hold back any longer.

He reached up and grabbed Isabelle's hair with one hand, yanking her back to the ground. And with the other hand, he punched Sebastian knocking him out cold.

By this time, Tessa showed up and with her was a young man in his early twenties.

The man went straight to Sebastian and Tessa went to Isabel and told Jace to make sure Stephen was okay.

But what happened next was so unexpected that, well, no one expected it.

Sebastian punched the young man square in the face and Isabel did the same to Tessa.

Then Isabel put a knife to Tessa's throat and said, "If you do anything stupid, I'll kill her. I will."

"Jace, I've lived long enough and I'm immortal, she can't kill me anyway." Tessa said bravely.

"Ah, I suppose you are," Isabel said thoughtful. "But I doubt your friend is."

"Jem!" Tessa screamed out.

Jace could tell that Jem was very important to Tessa so he made a quick decision."Okay, okay. Take me."

Tessa stared at Jace in horror as he kissed Stephen, then tranquilly walked up to Sebastian.
