I just found out that a new guy In my school has the surname Potter! And before I found this out I didn't know why but something was telling me: "go over to him, make friends"... now I know why.... the Potterhead instinct kicked in!
But anyway, me and my cousin are trying to think of some theories about who he is, I thought of this:
James potter (because he's his age) was being a git and used magic outside of Hogwarts during the summer holidays. He got a warning letter, but didn't care, he practised magic again. So because of that, he got another letter about a hearing at the ministry of magic. He lost the hearing and got his wand snapped. Harry was really disappointed and sent him to a muggle school with a code first name so that he's not in danger (there are a few death eaters in my school) as being Harry's son or fangirled over.
