The birth of the twins were really a source of much joy for Andres and Helena. Every day with the twins meant much love and joy for the couple.
On the other hand, Don Rico Valderrama, the father of Helena, was not happy. From the very start, he did not want Andres to be the husband of his daughter, but he he did not succeed in preventing romance from developing between Andres and Helena.
For these reasons, when the twins were born, Don Rico schemed to make things miserable for Andres and Helena. He was so desperate to ruin Helena's marriage with Andres, and in his despair, he wanted a different move.
So he gathered all the men whom he trusted. He told them about his plans. And then came the night, so he told the men in the garden of his house:
"On Monday, it will be my birthday. So as a birthday gift, I want that one of Andres's children be brought to me. Tomorrow at this time, one of you should take one of the twins. Be sure that no one will be able to see you."
And Don Rico's men nodded. So he asked, "Who can materialize our plan?" So his servants named Joaquin and Miguel presented themselves to him. And Don Rico instructed the two, "At about this time tomorrow, Miguel will enter the house of Andres but be sure that you will not awaken them. And Joaquin will look around while you do our plan." So Joaquin and Miguel nodded.
The following day, all the men were preparing to do their plan. By night, they were ready. Don Rico signaled the departure of his two servants, and that marked the most tragic night for Andres and Helena.
