Eren's Pov:

"Mikasa, get your gun! We have company!"

She nodded und reached out for the shotgun lying a few inches aside her. She has become a pretty good sniper over the years and barely ever missed a shot.

I took one of my knifes out of my pocket, I've always been better with blades than guns, but I could handle both.

Mikasa and I peeked over the self made railing of the roof, careful not to be seen. Here in the underworld it's never a good sign if someone's looking for you, especially when you're a wanted thief, so it was better if he didn't knew we were watching.

The hooded stranger was still standing in front of our door. I couldn't see his face, but he didn't look like he was a member of the Military Police. At least he wasn't wearing any uniform under his long dark cloak, for all I could see.

"Go down and tell the others to hide!" I ordered Mikasa.

"Like hell I'm leaving you alone! You have to hide, too. They're coming for you!", she hissed back.

"Mikasa, this guy doesn't seem like he's from the Military or the king's guards. I want to know what he's doing here and how he found us. He is only one, so if things turn out bad, we can easily take him down."

"We don't know if he's alone or if he has backup hiding somewhere. Whoever he is, he means trouble." Mikasa crossed her arms.

"It's too late to just run. Plus, he knows where to find me, so he will come back, that's for sure. It'll be easier for us to face this problem right now."

Mikasa sent me a sceptical glare.

"See, this guy is searching for something, probably me, and he won't go 'til we've dealt with him. If he turns out to be a threat, you can do whatever you want with him."

"Fine", Mikasa sighned in defeat. "But you will stay hidden as well as long as we don't know he wants. Armin and I will take care of this."

"If you insist." I shrugged.

I stood up carefully and made my way towards the stairs, my sister close behind me.
The rest of our group must have noticed the stranger too, because there was nobody left in the living room and the whole house was drop dead quiet.

I turned around at the sound of steps behind me. Armin was sneaking over to us, trying to be as quiet as possible.

"Everyone is in their hiding places", he wispered.

Knowing situations like this could occure, we had turned our house into a place full of fake walls and secret chambers. The storage under the carpet wasn't the only one of its kind, every room had its hollow spaces inside the wardrobe or behind the shelves. It took us a while to build all of this, but it had surely been worth it. You can never be careful enough in the underworld.

I gave Armin an acknowledging nodd. "Good job, buddy. Mikasa and I would have warned you but we had a little argument about how to deal with the situation."

Armin chuckled lightly. Mikasa frowned. "We decided that it would be best if you and I would talk to this guy. Eren will stay back until we know what he's up to."

Armin hummed in agreement. "Sounds like a sensible plan. It wasn't yours Eren, am I right?" He grinned.

"Stop bickering, Armin. We have a serious problem here!"

"Jeez Mikasa. Everything will be okay, calm down. We got this."

A loud knock on our door interrupted Armin's and Mikasa's discussion.
