Eren's Pov:

The time we were staying on top of the tower holding each other and sharing countless kisses felt like forever and I wished for it to never end. But of course we had to stop at some point, we both needed air, though living only from Levi's kisses sounded pretty good to me.

Being the smaller one Levi leaned his head on my shoulder while I still had my arms wrapped around his torso, holding him as close as I could. I placed my chin on top of his head and nuzzled my face into his silky raven hair. I felt his still slightly uneven breath tickle on my skin and his hands were drawing small circles on my shoulder blades.

"Eren", Levi murmured into my shirt, "we should go inside, it's getting pretty chilly out here and besides we might get seen."

"You're right, I wouldn't want our kisses getting interrupted by a bullet through my chest", I joked, but Levi didn't look very amused. I guess he took the fact that I had almost been killed two times in three days a little more serious than I did. I was used to being a constant target, I had been running from the Military Police all my life, but for Levi the thought of me getting attacked again seemed like his worst nightmare. It probably was.

"Hey, I'm just joking", I added when Levi grabbed my hand and dragged me to the stairs.

"I know, but sadly there is too much truth in that joke and I'm not gonna risk losing you when I just finally truely got you."

He replied, leading me down the winding staircase, never letting go of my hand, not that I wanted him to. I wanted to hold on to him forever now that he had admitted that he liked me back. I didn't know if it could already be called love, but the feelings Levi had let appear in my heart made me unable to think properly whenever we touched and I was just so completly overjoyed to be able to figure this, whatever it was, out with him.

We cautiously made our way to Levi's bedroom, the raven peaked around every corner before we passed it to make sure that we didn't get seen holding hands by anyone. Before we reached his quarters Levi let go of my hand, but before I could protest he put a finger on my lips to silence me.

"Hush, brat, I know you won't like that, but we have to go back to where we were before Petra was shot, just for a few minutes until we're in my private rooms. Because as much as I'd want to, I can't let anybody know about our new relationship just yet. We'll sort it out later, for now we have to put up a little act and let it seem like you're still just a prisoner under my personal watch. Okay?"

I nodded reluctantly. I knew that it was necessary, but getting treated like I was nothing special to the king again of course gave me sad déja-vu feeling.

"All right, I apologize in advance if I get a little rough with you, just remember, I don't mean a single word of what I'm gonna say."

He took a strong hold on my arm and motioned for me to continue walking. The soldiers in front of the big double door who were guarding the Levi's  quarters saluted at the sight of the king and frowned at me.

"So you did find this filthy criminal. Was he trying to run away, Sir?", one of the guards asked, disgust clearly evident in his voice. Levi stayed completly calm, no emotion showing on his face, only his familiar frown.

"No, he was just snooping around. But I guess I'll have to keep him close to me from now on, so this can't happen again."

"You should chain him down in the dungeons again, Sir", the other man suggested. I felt Levi's grip tighten slightly, but the was no change in his expression or voice to be noticed.

"That won't be necessary. For him it would be easier to escape from a cell instead the dungeons than from my watch, so I he'll stay with me. I can take care of a little thief myself. Now let us pass!", Levi commanded.
