Annabeth's POV
Snow. It's snowing. Well I guess it should because we live in New York. It's December now. The twins are walking and talking some. Their 16 months now. That means two months since it happened.
I sigh and set my mug down on the table by the couch. Percy's outside with the twins. They're all bundled up. Percy insisted that since they can walk that they need to play in the snow. But the snow is so high they can't even walk. I walk over to the sliding door and open it.
"Percy!" I yell out into the cold air. "Bring the kids back in. Please it's getting colder." He nods and picks up Ashton and holds Penny's hand and walks to the backdoor with them.
I shut the door and start helping him take off the layers of clothing that they are wearing.
Once that is done I bring them into the kitchen and make some hot chocolate for Percy. While I'm warming up the drink, Percy is putting the twins in their high-chair.
"Annabeth do you think that the twins can have hot chocolate?" He asks me and when I turn he is giving me the puppy dog eyes.
I laugh. "I'll let them try it." He smiles at my response and kisses me on the cheek and walks over to the cabinet and gets out two sippy cups and sets them down next to me.
The microwave beeps. I open it and take out the hot water. I then grab three packets of hot chocolate powder and mix it in. Once I finished mixing it I pour it into Percy's and I's mugs.
Percy takes his. "Percy don't drink it! It's-" Before I could finish he takes a sip and spits it back out. "Hot." I laugh and so do the twins.
Percy mutters some unintelligible words. But I could tell that they are words not meant for children's ears. I sigh.
"I tried to warn you." I tell him. He frowns.
"Yeah well it didn't work." He says. I laugh.
"You know it's been awhile since you laughed." He tells me. Before I can respond Penny talks.
"Mommy! Daddy got warm stuff on me!" She yells to me. I sigh.
"I'm sorry baby. Daddy will wipe it away." I tell her and ruffle her curls. Ashton just stares at me with curious and intense eyes. He doesn't speak much.
"Done." Percy says and tosses a wet paper towel in the trash can.
"Chocolate!" Penny screeches at the top her lungs.
"Penny we do not yell." I scold her. She sulks. I look at the clock. 5:34 p.m. Dinner time.
"Do you think the hot chocolate is cooled down some now?" Percy asks me.
"I don't know. Why don't you try it." I tell him.
"Uhh......I rather not." He tells me not looking me in the eye. I laugh and taste it.
"It's good." I tell him. He smiles.
_____
The twins are playing in the living room and Percy and me are watching them. Ashton is trying to keep up with Penny, who is running around the tree. Oh yeah it's Christmas. And as soon as I turn to look at Percy, Penny decides to try to unwrap one of her presents that is already under the tree.
"Penny! Stop!" I yell at her. She bursts into tears and starts throwing a fit. I sigh and go and pick her up. But she has other ideas and darts around me and goes and clings onto Percy's leg.
Percy looks down at her and try's to pry her off. She's not budging. "Penny." He says in a calm voice. "What have we told you about throwing tantrums?" She looks up at him with an evil smirk on her face.
"Daddy. Uncle Conny said that throwing fits gets you things." She says and stares up at him with big puppy dog eyes. I glare at Percy trying to tell him not to give in.
"Penny. If you don't behave then Santa won't come tonight. So go upstairs and wait in your room for me to come and help you get your jammies on." She runs off.
"Mommy." Ashton calls. I go and sit next to him.
"Yes?" I ask him.
"Is sissy in trouble?" He asks. I laugh.
"No, she's not." I kiss his forehead and tell him to go follow Daddy upstairs.
He waddles over to Percy and lets him pick him up. They go upstairs and I follow shortly behind. Not until after I put some presents under the tree. The twins are now old enough to understand a little bit about Christmas. Last Christmas they were only a couple of months old so we just took pictures of them around the presents.
I walk up the stairs and walk to Penny's room. I find her sitting next to her crib. I quickly get out her reindeer pajamas and undress her and change her diaper. I put her pajamas on settle her in her crib.
"Now go to sleep Penny. The sooner you go to sleep, the sooner you can see your presents and our family." I smile at her. She lays down and is silent.
I walk to our room. Percy is already in bed. I go and change into my pajamas. I then get in next to him. I quickly fall asleep.
_____
I wake up to Penny screaming "Mommy!" over and over again. I flip over and see Percy lying on his side with a pillow over his ears.
"You know she gets her energy from you." I tell him.
He groans. "Yeah I figured that out." He says and gets up and kisses me before he walks out of the room.
He lips taste salty. I smile at the thought.
I swing my legs over the bed make my out the door. I see Percy with Penny under one arm and Ashton under the other. I follow them. When we get downstair he puts them down and Ashton makes his way over to his stalking and try's to grasp it, but it's out of his reach. I take it down for him. I grab Penny's as well.
_____
Two hours later all the presents are open and the trash is picked up. Percy was packing the car and I was trying to stop Penny from drinking grape juice and spilling it all over her white Christmas dress. I know white is not he best for a toddler but she spilled juice on her other dress a few minutes ago. Ashton was playing with a train set he got this morning.
We were going over to Sally's and Paul's for lunch and exchanging gifts with them. After that we're coming back home and then our friends are coming over.
Oh how I love Christmas.

Sorry it took me so long to update. I know this isn't a good chapter. I'll probably put another chapter based on Christmas Day. Thanks for being patient.
