Scene ii
Main Performance Tent, Albany High
Enter PERCY, Audience
PERCY (PUCK): If we shadows have offended,
Think but this, and all is mended,
That you have but slumber'd here
While these visions did appear.
And this weak and idle theme,
No more yielding but a dream,
Gentles, do not reprehend:
if you pardon, we will mend:
And, as I am an honest Puck,
If we have unearned luck
Now to 'scape the serpent's tongue,
We will make amends ere long;
Else the Puck a liar call;
So, good night unto you all.
Give me your hands, if we be friends,
And Robin shall restore amends.
AUDIENCE: [applauds and cheers]
Enter Drama Team.
Drama Team: [bows]
Exeunt Audience
QUINN: That was fantastic! They gave us a standing ovation!
SUMMER: Not bad. Not bad at all.
KEIGH: I was one excellent Bottom if I do say so myself.
SIMMONS: [laughs]
That you were, donkey, that you were.
Exeunt
Enter Owen, Thalia, Pete
OWEN: The play was amazing!
THALIA: My cousin Marigold was Helena! It was really good! I hope that we can live up to it!
PETE: Are you kidding me? The whole school is talking about the magic show! It’s practically the main attraction!
OWEN: Way to calm my nerves Pete.
THALIA: Don’t worry Owen; you’re going to do fine. Everyone is supporting you!
PETE: She’s right. Everybody’s rooting for you.
OWEN: What are you going to do during my break?
PETE: I’m going to have some fun with the pocket watch.
OWEN: You’re not going to tell me, are you?
PETE: Nope. But I’ve been practicing, so it’s okay.
Enter HANA and LEONARDO
HANA: Why is he here? He knows that I wasn’t supposed to come!
LEONARDO: Do you think he might have found out about us coming?
HANA: How could he have found out? The only person we told was... oh my gosh. She did NOT tell him. I am so going to kill Halle.
LEONARDO: Let’s just stick to a strongly worded text message for now. Don’t worry. There’s nothing that he can really do to ruin tonight for us. We’re already here.
HANA: I know.
THALIA: Hey, are you two okay?
HANA: My best friend betrayed me and my dad doesn’t like Leonardo here because he wants me to be with Derick who I hate and now Derick is here and could figure out that we’re here but it was supposed to be a secret and Halle went and told him and now everything’s messed up!
THALIA: You poor thing! Did you at least get to enjoy the fair a little before you saw him?
HANA: I guess so. We got here kind of early- before the play- and we did most of the booths and activities I think, then we watched the play. It reminds me of my life right now- minus the magic fairies, of course. That would be creepy.
OWEN: You guys can stay here, in this tent, while we set up if you don’t want to be seen. We don’t mind.
PETE: Yeah. Since you did most of the stuff outside there isn’t really much to do except walk around and you’re sure to be seen that way.
LEONARDO: Thank you so much.
HANA: We can help you set up.
THALIA: Sure! You can come with me to get the costumes.
OWEN: Leonardo, you can come with me to get the display up.
PETE: You guys know each other?
HANA: Yeah. We were all in the same literature class. It’s where I met Leo actually.
Exeunt
