Scene I

Albany, New York. The Living room of Timothy’s Home

Enter TIMOTHY and HAILEY

TIMOTHY: I am so happy that we’re finally getting married!

HAILEY: I realized; you’ve been saying that every five minutes since you gave me the ring yesterday.

TIMOTHY: I know… but aren’t you excited?!

HAILEY: Yes, very.

Enter EDMUND

EDMUND: Timmy, my boy! I am so proud of you!

TIMOTHY: [rubs the back of his neck awkwardly]

Dad! I’m not a boy anymore!

EDMUND: [ruffles Timothy’s hair]

You know that you’re always my boy Timmy!

EDMUND: Stop calling me Timmy!

HAILEY: So, what brings you here?

EDMUND: It is Hana… she is well-suited with Derick, yet, she decides to waste her time with Leonardo. She even wants to go to that big summer fair with him! She is so stubborn! They are all on the porch and I was wondering if you could try to talk some sense into her?

TIMOTHY: Hana! Derick! Leonardo!

Enter HANA, DERICK and LEONARDO

HANA: Hey, big brother! How’s it going Hailey?

HAILEY: Hey Hana! Everything’s great!

TIMOTHY:  Hey Hana. So… which one of you boys is the Derick that Dad over there likes so much?

DERICK: [smiles proudly]

That would be me.

TIMOTHY: So I guess that makes you Leonardo?

LEONARDO: Yes, that’s me.

TIMOTHY: Leonardo, what makes you think that you are good enough for my sister?

LEONARDO: I am in love with her and she is in love with me.

TIMOTHY: What about you, Derick?

DERICK: Not only am I obsessed with her, I am captain of the basketball team at our school AND my parents are ridiculously rich.

HANA: I don’t care about any of that filth! He’s my best friend’s ex for goodness sakes! I am in love with Leonardo! Even if I did care about material things, Leonardo is captain of our football team and he isn’t badly off either! I am going to that fair with him!

EDMUND: Hana! Ladies should be seen and not heard!

HANA: Dad, are you serious? This is the twenty-first century!

TIMOTHY: Okay! Now that everyone has their opinions out, I say that Hana, you shouldn’t talk to Dad like that. Derick seems like a nice guy.    

HANA: Leonardo is nicer and I am in love with him. My opinion is not going to change and I refuse to be with Derick in any way. I’d rather be a nun.

DERICK: You don’t have to hide your true feelings just because I’m your friend’s ex. Just leave Leonardo. You will be better off with me- even your father thinks so!

LEONARDO: You have her father’s love, Derick;

Let me have Hana’s: do you marry him.

EDMUND: This was a bad idea. I am leaving!

Exit all but LEONARDO and HANA

LEONARDO: Well, that went terribly. But it was amusing.

HANA: [doubles over in laughter]

Did you see the look on his face when you quoted Shakespeare? He turned red! He couldn’t even say anything back! It was classic!

[Continues laughing]

LEONARDO: Are we still going to be able the fair though?

 HANA: Of course! I already have my escape route planned and everything!

LEONARDO: Don’t tell anybody though. We don’t want to risk it.

HANA: I’ll only tell Halle. She’s my best friend! I trust her. By the way, did you know that she still has a crush on Derick? Ugh. Apparently arrogant is her type.

[Texts Halle]

I hope that you liked it!! It's actually just a schol project that i'm doing now so sorry if you don't like the drama format but i have to do it like that and i just copy and pasted it from the word document that i'm doing it in for school.

it's based on a midsummer night's dream if you didn't notice..
