The grass felt cool and soothing on my burnt paws. I was so happy to be out, I fell on my back, rolling in the grass. I rolled and flipped, snorting happily. Then, I ate some grass and ambushed if again. When I arose, I was covered in grass. My black fur dotted with green and brown, I left.
Ten minutes of walking and I discovered a house. The house was crimson red and laden with brick. Beautiful, luscious green grass caressed the bottom layer while two pink flamingos stuck out of the dirt. As I looked at the front door, I saw a large dog guarding it. It was a good sized German Shepherd Dog. As I crept closer, I could see the. Germans coat. It was a sable brown and black and he had a brown "saddle" on his back. He was a retired K9 officer who lived with his handler who was now his owner. He wore five tags, the first read, "K9 unit 11-15", then  "Chase",  then, "912-715-654", and finally, "K9 cop." I walked up to him and he barked once, a warning. I held my tail high, I was an alpha. He growled as I got closer, but I displayed my alpha mark and he quit. He was now calm enough to approach. I let him sniff my anus and and he barked, "Hello, I'm Chase. Sergeant Chase." I barked, "I know, I read your tags. Nice to meet you, I'm Avalanche. Alpha of the Northern Pack." He dipped his head and said, "Hello, alpha," and I dipped back. I asked, "Don't you know what I am?" He scoffed, "You're a wolf. My ancestor, my brethren. I have many wolf friends, so I'm not afraid of you. I'm sure you ain't gone hurt my mother, my owner, now are ya?" I shook my head, "Good," he said. Then he continued, "Then we ain't got no problem. I must ask ya one question, why are you here so close to human territory?" I answered, "I've been driven out of my home land. I'm hungry, in need of sleep and my paws ache!"
He looked at me for a long moment, then turned his head toward the front door. "My human loves canines, maybe she'll let ya hang out here for a while. While you recuperate, but you have to make me a solemn promise", he waited for an answer, "ok what is it?" I asked. "You must be willing to walk on a leash and you'll have to eat dog food. Also, alpha, my master will be yours as well for the duration of your stay. So that means absolutely no dominant behavior from you at all. No biting, scratching, or clawing her at all. As well as keeping your tail at a respective height." I agreed to all his rules and he welcomed me to the family. "We'll both have to wait. Oh, ya gotta wear a collar too.
