I thought about it, then barked. "What's that, girl? Are you tryin to tell me me something?" Of course I was trying to tell her something! I wanted her to know my name, but we didn't speak the same language so I hung my head. She stood up and told me "Go in" and I did what Chase had done. I ran into the gate and the leash streamed out like a banner behind me. She exclaimed, "Good wolf! That's a good wolf!" I wagged at being a "good wolf." She said, "Maybe it's time I let toy off-leash." She came up to my head and pet it. I had finally achieved goal number one!
I expected her to replace the rope on me, but she didn't. I was confused and followed her around the yard. Chase played with a ball and I looked at him, asking him to play with my eyes and body language. He accepted my invitation and I bounded over to him. He barked, "You're free?" I shook my head, "Yep I guess the fence is enough." He then asked, "Hey, Avalanche what were you doin earlier?" I answered, "Your human wants to name me. But I already have a name that I love. Is there any way you or I could tell her my name?"
