The woman stepped on to the porch and called us both, "Chase! Wolf! Come here!" Chase instantly ran over to her abs sat at his humans feet. He then looked to me and threw his head toward the house. I rose and walked up to the first step and sat. This was as far as the rope would let me. The human looked at me and took something out of her pocket. It was a long strip of nylon, and was covered in white bones on a blue canvas. My very own collar! XL size! Now I could be like Chase and wear my collar all the time. I strained against the rope. The girl came up to me and I let her pet my head. She then gave me handfuls of meat to get her on my good side. After she had gained my trust, she slid the rope off my neck. After that, she took out the collar, my collar, and my tail began to wag. I thrust my neck toward her, yearning for a human, wanting a collar, wishing I could stay here forever. She put the collar on my neck slowly, then carefully clicked it. I stayed perfectly still and calm throughout the whole experience. I was now wearing a collar and was happy to do so.
After the collar, she tried to click a metal clasp on my collar, but I dodged it. She said, "it's just a leash. It's ok. Come on, come on." I wouldn't let her put a leash on me. Chase demonstrated how to act when your human has a leash. All she had to do was look at him and he instantly knew what to do. He sat down on the grass in front of me. She took out his leash and clicked it on his collar. She put down the leash attached to Chase and then turned her attention back to me. I still stood in awe of her and Chases' deep bond. I wanted her to love me as much as she loved Chase so I let her click the leash on my collar. She walked back over to Chase, while holding me. I didn't know what to do so I sat down. Chase started to walk beside her, then looked at me. I got up and walked over to her and stopped at Chase. He was my mentor into this new experience. She tugged at both leashes and walked over to a white fence surrounding the yard. She opened the gate and Chase walked with her. I followed her and Chases' lead. The whole walk, me and Chase stopped frequently to pee. He lifted his leg proudly while I squatted.
After the walk, we went back home. She took off Chases' lead before we even entered the gate, but he stayed put. I, on the other paw, was still on a red and apricot leash. She opened the gate and called Chase. "Go in Chase" as he sprinted into the gates entrance. She bent down in front of me, "good wolf, I'm gonna name you girl but I ain't got a clue what."
