Inside, the smells were glorious. I smelled trash, and Chase, and her, and a number of other things. She led me to a heavy brass table she had in the living room and tied my leash to the table leg. I knew I was meant to stay where I was and I also knew not to struggle free. While I was tied up, Chase stayed close by me and we played and talked for a while, until something happened. The woman turned off a box with pictures on it and looked at Chase.
As she got up, Chase wagged his tail. He ran to the door and I wondered what was happening. Then, I heard the now-familiar metallic ringing of the leash. With a wagging tail, I waited for my adopted human to come for me. Aw did after she had gotten Chase leashed up. She went and grabbed my leash and then got Chase and we both went out.
Outside, the ground was cool on my paw pads. Me and Chase both had to pee, but I had to go. I sniffed a tree and pissed while Chase went to the next tree and squatted over the pine straw. I saw his butt wiggle, his tail go up and down, and poop logs fall to the ground. Then I saw the girl get a poop bag from her pocket and pick up his job. I felt bad for the poor girl, but I also knew that was part of her job.
So people, please think before you buy a dog, it's a life long commitment. This dog is yours for the rest if it's life. Which means ya gotta feed em, walk em, and love em. If you can't do that, then don't invest in a dog.
