I wagged my tail, "Ok, but how do we tell her when we don't speak the same language." Chase, once again said, "The computer! No, wait, don't the news show avalanches?" I said, "Hell, I don't know. I guess so." She came downstairs and took us pee. When we came in, she turned on the tv. She flipped to wtoc 11 news. She watched that for an hour, but no avalanches came on the tv.
Then, she watched the world news and it happened. An avalanche came on the tv. Me and Chase started barking our heads off. She said, "Shhhh!!" But we kept on. Chase ran to the tv, and barked. Then, he looked at me and at the tv and at me again. She asked, "Avalanche?" And walked over to me. "Is your name Avalanche?" I barked and wagged. She knew my name!
After she found out my name, she put Chase on a leash and led him to her truck, "Load up!" And Chase jumped up in the shotgun seat. "Be good wolf!" I howled. She turned the keys over and drove out the driveway. I waited for 30 minutes. I was bored, insanely bored. Please, come back soon!
An hour later, I heard the truck pull in the driveway. I ran to the door and barked, "Chase! Human!" I wage sky tail then scratched under my collar with my back foot. She opened the door, and climbed out. Then went over to Chases side. She said, "Out!" And he leapt out of the truck. She walked in, with Chase protectively beside her and gave him a silent sit and stay command and he did as he was told.
She then went back out, leaving the door open. When she came back in, she was holding bags of things. 10 bags in total. She threw them on the floor then closed the door. Then she went through the bags. She pulled out 3 large bags of dog food, 5 dog toys of varying types, 2 food bowls, 2 water bowls, 6 bags of dog treats, and a dog tag in a baggie.
She then called me over, "Avalanche!" She used my name for the first time. She showed me a wolf-head shaped dog tag. The top line read "Avalanche." The second read "breed-wolf", the third read "number: 912-715-654", the fourth read "owner: Abby Bomer" and the last read "Brother- Chase." She took off my collar, which felt wrong. She then took out the protector and tag ring and paced them both on my tag. Afterwards, she clicked it on my collar and put my collar back on. She said, "This is your home now, Avalanche. I have all the papers I need to keep you. I'm now a wolf keeper of sorts. Anyway, you live here now and I officially own you." She patted my head, then said, "Tomorrow, you'll go to the vet to get your shots and spayed." I wagged my tail, I had a home, a forever home.
That night, I slept like a rock. Then, I woke up the next morning. She came downstairs and put a leash on me.
