When we got back in, my adopted mother sat in her chair and turned on the TV. She was wearing her light green Dale Earnhardt Junior shirt. She found the channel that the NASCAR race was on, and turned the volume up to 40. She saw Junior and yelled, "Come on, 88, win it!" I became interested in the race and sat down at her feet, and looked up. Looking at the TV, I watched the cars go. My favorite was Junior. We watched him go from 21st to 6th. Then, on lap 55, there was a caution.

Brad Keselowski had spun out and run into the wall hard. His crew chief asked over the radio,
"You okay, man?"
Brad didn't answer.
"Brad! Brad! Are you okay?!" His crew chief was worried now.
Brad finally answered,
"No, I'm hurt."
His crew chief asked,
"What? What hurts?!"
Brad answered,
"I think my leg is broken. I can't move it."
His crew chief said,
"Okay, hang tight, ambulance is coming."
The officials ran to his car and he got out, carefully. When he was out, he limped over to the emergency vehicle, with help from officials. One official asked him,
"Brad, are you okay?"
He answered,
"I don't know."
The official said,
"We'll soon find out. You're going to the infield care center, and possibly the hospital."
Brad nodded and got in, and the ambulance with him in it rolled off the track. Ten minutes later, officials told the audience that he was okay, and his leg was bruised. The race went on, minus Keselowski.
Lap 53 and the green flag flew once again. Restart was a go! Then, junior moved up to 5th and the leader, Jeff Gordon, flew down the track. Then, another caution on lap 69. It was a pileup. Jamie McMurray had spun and they were bottled up close, and his bumper hit Austin Dillon, Kevin Harvick, Sam Hornish Jr, and Matt Kenneth. Anyway, everyone was okay after a trip the infield care center. It's a rule in NASCAR that if you get in a wreck, you have to go to the infield care center via ambulance.
The pace car ran out in front, keeping all the cars in check. Lap 72 and restart. By now, Junior was running first, he'd took over his teammate, Jeff Gordon and dropped him down to second. On lap 101, there was another caution and pit road opened. The leader pitted, and Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon, and Kevin Harvick too. The restart was go once more at Texas Motor Speedway. Lap 105 of 530. There were 5 more cautions before lap 301. Two were crashes, one was a spin out, one was a walk hit, and the last was a tire issue. Restart and green flag again, this time, Junior dropped down to sixth place because his Microsoft sponsored car was loose. Whenever he turned, he more or less spun out a few times. Brad Keselowski had been back a good 100 laps ago, and took first place. But, on lap 500, Jimmie Johnson emerged from the shadows and cut right in front of Brad's car. Brad took the lead back on lap 502. Jimmie chased him down, only a car length's distance between him and Johnson. On lap 525, big wreck. Obviously, the caution waved and pit road opened. Many drivers, including the leader, pitted for a gallon of Sunoco race fuel, beautiful fresh Goodyear tires, chassis adjustments abs wedge adjustments. Then, green flag. Jimmie Johnson led and the number two was second. The 48 won the race, yelling over the radio,
"Woo-hoo! Good job, boys!"
Jimmie Johnson burned out like crazy, destroying his tires. The smoke came from the car and drifted towards the audience. She watched victory lane a while and I went to go find Chase.
