Misty's POV:

As soon as we got to the library we shoed everyone out. It involved Angel yelling something about free cookies in the cafeteria and Mike (at the same time) yelled that there was a giant spider on the table. Like everyone was confused about it but still left. They knew they were trying to get them out and since it was only like five people they didn't mind.

I rolled my eyes at the boys. Xander came with us but then said it wasn't his place to be here so he just left. It looked like we really wore a gang. We started by putting the closed sign on the door in the library, nobody could walk in to hear us talk about mermaids and witches. (though the people knew they existed they weren't needed to talk about, and people had powers, they weren't mystical creatures. btw we were all early and class started later. Also witches were illegal!)

"Guys, I think that we should look at history for that cove." They all nodded and we went to work. Avery went to the computer in the library and everyone else went to the books. It all started to get boring so I just shouted out randomly,

"Guys, is it dangerous for someone to be a mermaid?" And then a voice I didn't recognize walked out of the shadows.

"It's not illegal, but it's frowned upon. Sometimes people get all mad if your too different." She said all sassy. She walked out of the shadow with curly wavy brown hair, on one side a streak of silver and on the other a steak of red. She has a pair of long black gloves and a strap-less red leather crop-top. "I'm Gwen and I just learned a little bit about one of you." She said. Everyone was all shocked except for Angel. He stepped out of the shadows and smiled at Gwen.

"Gwen! Good to see you again. How's the lightning thing going on?" That's when I realized why Gwen had the gloves, she could shoot out lightning! Wow, now I'm scared she's gonna let it go. (get it, cause Elsa, ya I know my Disney jokes are lame...)

"Angel, my old friend. How'd that electric wound healing? I hope I didn't hurt you too bad." She said in a sarcastic pout. "Ha, Gwen! Wasn't that your intention? It's all better not even a scar left." He replied swiftly. Wow, what is up with Angel?

"See you around tiger." She replied and the walked right out the door. I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding. I turned to Angel. "How do you know her?" I asked simply, but forcefully. "Misty. She was an old...acquaintance." I didn't want to pry so I let it go though I knew there was going to be more of this girl.

And just as quick an old man with glasses popped up from behind the library counter. "This is what you will need to figure out what happened. It looks like the right type of book with the right context." He had a crisp British accent and looked at out surprised faces and raised an eyebrow. "what? You never seen a librarian?"

Avery stuttered a reply. "Y-y-you w-were there th-the entire time?" He laughed. "My power is too know when someone needed some knowledge, so here it is. By the way, my name is Mr. Gillian. Any way, back to your problems... I know your a witch Misty I'm not gonna tell. I felt the knowledge you needed the night before whatever happened so stop trying to hide it. Angel-" Something like a growl escaped Angel. I looked at him weirdly but  Mr. Gillian just nodded. "Fine. Oh Mike, well nothing we don't know about from you so I'll shut up." Angel didn't want him to tell something to us. I thought. Also, Mr. Gillian knew all that stuff without looking up from the book he was going to show us! He's going to be a powerful ally.

"Avery, you don't need to worry about being a mermaid. It won't do anything bad, except when you get wet the fin will appear. You'll have about a minute if your not fully under water, if you are fully under water or your head gets wet, you have a few seconds. As soon as you get dried (with the not under water part) the fins are gone, as soon as you get out of water (with the under water part) The fins will disappear after a few seconds. It's very complicated but you know what deal with it. The bell is going to ring soon anyway so you should start getting to class. Thank you." He said and then he went over and opened the door for us. Looks like we have to leave.

First period was so very boring but then second period was different. We had to write down what our power was. I said moving things with air cause that's really cool, and then I practised. I noticed Angel wasn't here and neither was Avery or Mike! Glen was watching me with an eye brow raised in the corner while taking her gloves off and Xander was writing stuff down. The class was so much fun! I couldn't wait for the next one and then realized I had a free period next. After free period was history, I really didn't want to do history but I didn't mind in the end. But the last thing the teacher said shocked me.

"All classes will be canceled for emergency training, I'm afraid the town is on alert because of some reports of the hunters. Be careful, school will end early, dismissed. "

The hunters? I thought to myself before the alarm started blaring.
