I skid to a halt looking ahead of me. In front of me were hundreds of people starring out into the distant. They weren't moving in the silent streets, but instead, looking ahead of them, starring at the sandwich shop, or beyond.
"Angel..." I said silently not even looking behind me.
"I don't know." He said as if he could read my mind.
"But, what are they-"
"I don't know."
"Let's go." I said, trying to get him to turn around, but instead I got all of the blankly people to simultaneously turn around. Their eyes were completely black. When I looked in their eyes all I saw was a black void.
"Is that, Marian Webbster?" Angel said looking at one of the people.
"the girl from the bakery?" He nodded. Now I knew that these weren't hunters, these were our people. And they were possessed.
And then in sinqe they started walking forward.
"ANGEL!" I cried out in fear trying to get him to go.
"We can't run from them, if we do they will posses more people and hurt more people, I can't do this to them. I know these people. tell me you've learned the exorcism spell, tell me you have please." I looked at him in shock.
"I don't know anything but my elements!" I cried out. He looked at me hurt.
"I can't kill these people I can't." He said blankly not moving.
"Then don't! Let's go!"
"MISTY WE CAN"T!" He finally screamed shocking me. "You need to go, but I need to stop them. I can get some of them out of some of them, but I can't save them all. I wish I could, but you need to get somewhere safe. Please, for me." He turned to me, staring me in the eyes telling me to go, looking at me like this is the last time he would see me.
"Angel, I-" He leaned in and kissed me.
"I will come back, I promise. Don't do anything stupid 'till I do. Kay?" I nodded, feeling my cheeks turn red and I turned around and ran passing by people with cold black eyes staring me in my soul.
Tears were streaming down my face as I ran, hoping that I could pass by these people and go home, praying that nothing would be there. As I ran I thought of my friends, my family, wondering what could be happening to them. How could wanting a sandwich turn to this? I thought to myself in distress looking for a home.
I ran to the house and carefully went inside, going as silently as I could.
"Misty?" I heard mom's voice echoing across, but something was wrong. "Misty, is that you?" She called out again. "Misty, something is happening! I need to know if you are ok!" She called out to me again in a weird voice using a tone I normally wouldn't hear. "Misty, I don't know what's happening but I love you okay. Do you hear me, I love you." She said again sending chills down my spine.
I inched closer unsure of what I would see, afraid that mom would have the chilling black voids were her eyes should be. I walked to her and saw that, nothing. I stifled a cry as I looked onto her, and yet still made a sound. She starred at me, a evil grin spreading across her face. "misty, you've made it." She hissed at me sending my heart racing.
"You are not my mother." I replied trying to be calm but instead letting out a panicked sentence.
"But of course I am sweetie." Her eyes flicked from black back to their normal color. I cried out.
"You are not my mother." I replied.
"Alright. Fine. But two can play at that game." Her eyes flicked back to red and she grabbed my arm pulling me in.
