The Fighters Return Book Two

Raelyns POV

Holding Ty close the sound of his sobs tear at my cold heart. Sorrow fills my aching chest and I squeeze my eyes shut for a second. "Shh bud, it's ok" I whisper as I stroke his hair trying to calm him down. After a while his sons quieten down and turn into sift whimpers. Taking a deep breath I release him from my arms and take a good look at the boy I once saw as my own. His blonde hair has gotten longer since I left, it's now past his shoulder blades. Taking a step back I realise how tall he's gotten, standing a bit taller then me now. 'God I've missed so much' I think to myself as I shake my head slightly. Cupping his cheek affectionately I wipe away the tears that escaped from his beautiful ice blue eyes 'he looks so much like his father' I say to myself. "Y-you're back" Ty says quietly and I swallow heavily, not knowing what to say I just nod my head. "H-how long are you s-staying for?" He asks in a small voice. "For a while bud, I'm gonna be back for a little while" I answer softly and he smiles, his eyes shining with happiness. " it's been so different without you here m-Raelyn. D-dads not doing so good, he misses you" Tyler says and I close my eyes and take a deep breath. Before I get a chance to change the subject he continues speaking. "He still cries, even now, it's been so hard with you gone, a-and Benji, he's been so angry since you left. He thinks you abandoned him" he finishes speaking and I smile sadly. " I'm sorry I left bud, but I had a reason, I promise I did" I say but I don't know whether I'm trying to convince him or myself that I had a reason. " I-i know you did Raelyn I know" he agrees, not knowing what else to do I pull him into another hug. After a moment silence I hear a commotion upstairs before the door is thrown open, turning my head round I come face to face with a heavy breathing Crimson. "Sorry Raelyn, but Phoenix is having another nightmare, we thought maybe you could help to calm him down this time, you know, seeing as you're here" he says and I blow out a breath. Tyler looks at me with pleading eyes begging me silently to make his fathers nightmares go away. Looking into those eyes of his, I know I can't deny him this. It's my fault his father is suffering like this in the first place. "Raelyn!" I hear a broken voice scream out from upstairs and my heart rate spikes as Crimsons eyes widen. Not saying anything I push past Crimson and dart up the stairs, reaching the top I automatically head in the direction of Phoenix's room. As I'm focusing on getting to Phoenix I don't realise someone blocking my path until I bump into a large muscled back. The person turns round and I notice that it's Keyz. His eyes widen "Raelyn what are you doing up here?" "Move out my way Keyz, I can help" I say and his nods and moves out of the doorway. Stepping into the room I grimace at the strong smell of body odour and alcohol. Shaking my head my eyes immediately go to the bed where Colton and Bear are holding down a sweaty looking Phoenix. "Raelyn don't do this, don't leave me. I'll be better p-please just... don't leave...me" Phoenix shouts and I suck in a sharp breath, he starts thrashing more struggling against Colton and Bear's hold. Looking at Colton I move forward and nod at him signalling for him to move, he looks at me worriedly but obeys and moves aside looking uncertain. Phoenix is still thrashing around in the mess of sheets he's created. Taking a deep breath I sit beside his thrashing body. Taking a hand I place it on his cheek ignoring the way his stubble scratches my palm. "Phoenix, it's time to calm down" I say and his hole body tenses and stills. A frown appears on his beautiful face but his eyes remain closed. "R-Raelyn?" He whispers and I close my eyes for a second. Leaning down I place a kiss on his cheek before whispering "I'm right here phoenix, calm down. I'm right here" his body relaxes and I sigh sitting up straight again. I hear the guys blow out relieved sighs and I shake my head pushing some hair back from Phoenix's face. Still as gorgeous as ever I think to myself helplessly. As the guys leave the room I'm left with a sleeping Phoenix and one heck of a heart ache. As I go to stand a big hand engulfs my wrist and I tense. Following the hand that the arm is attached to, I realise that it's Phoenix, who has hold of my wrist and I hold my breath as his eyes open a fraction. Looking into his glazed over icy blue eyes, it's  silent for a moment but then he speaks. "Stay with me, I-i know your not her, she's far far away from me now, but... you look like her..." he mutters hoarsely tugging on my wrist, I know I shouldn't but I do anyway. Someone's heart is gonna get broken, I just know it. Sighing heavily I lay down beside him and he pulls me into his arms, crushing me against his chest. "Just once I'd like to be with her again...hold her again... tell her I love her..." he whispers squeezing me tight and my heart clenches why do I get the feeling that he's completely drunk right now I think to myself but regardless of him smelling like a mini bar, I drift off to the sound of Phoenix's quiet snoring.... I'm gonna have a good time explaining this when he wakes up...

I'm so sorry I haven't updated, God it's been ages hasn't it... everything been getting on top of me lately... college is a lot more stressful then I thought it would be 😂 I have a new found respect for college students😂 anyway I hope you guys enjoy this chapter I decided to change the POV back to Raelyn now that we all know who Ameryis really is.. and I would just like to say thanks to all of you wonderful people who have been so patient with me, you guys are amazing. I promise I will try to update more!!
