Walking upstairs I take a deep breath, stepping into the corridor I begin making my way to my room, time to pack..."Are you really going?" I hear a voice say and I turn to face a frowning Benji. I swallow the pain in my chest as I take in his broken expression. Is this how Colton felt when he left me?... If it is, I can see how hurtful my words must have been to hear all those years ago. "Raelyn?" Benji calling my name brings me out of my thoughts. "How much did you hear Benji?" I ask worried that he heard the whole conversation, if so, that may be a bit of a problem. "Only the part where you said that you'd be gone within the hour and that we'll all be safer if you was to stay in a motel?" he says almost questioningly, almost as if trying to confirm what he heard. Not able to lie to him, I nod and watch his face fall. "I knew it" he snaps and I frown, "knew what?" I ask taking a step towards him but he backs up. "You're abandoning me. Again! Now when I need my big sister more then ever you're fucking leaving!" he shouts at me and I growl at his tone. "You watch your tone with me boy. Lets not forget, I'm the one who saved your ass from constant beatings, I'm the one that literally nearly died for you! I raised you for ten years Benjiman and I KNOW I didn't raise you to be disrespectful!" I snap and he drops his glare to the floor. "Me and you still need to talk and now's a good time as any" I say and he glances up at me. I huff and gesture for him to follow me, he falls in to step beside me and I roll my neck. We both fall silent as we make our way to my room. Stepping into my room I beckon him in and point to my bed before shutting the door behind him. Sitting down in the chair in the corner of the room I sigh before speaking. "So who's the contract with Benji?" I ask and he shakes his head, his jaw clamped shut. Remaining silent. "Now is not the time to be stubborn Benji! Do you have any idea what being in a contract means? It means they own you, for the length of that contract, whatever they want done, you do. I need to know who your contractor is" I snap and his head snaps up, he shakes his head again and I growl. "Benji!" "I don't know ok!" he shouts out running a hand through his wild untamed hair. "What do you mean you don't know?" I hiss and his lets out a stressed sound. "Some men approached me with the contract, said their boss saw somethin' special in me and thought I had potential or somethin'. It said that I'd be earning a bigger amount of money and make a reputation as well, the contract was signed with initials, but the contractors name wasn't on any of the papers" he says and I curse in my head. Fuck! "How long is the contract for Benji and how long has it been since you signed it?" ask and he swallows so loudly I swear I can hear it. "I signed about six months ago" he says and I raise an eyebrow for him to continue. He casts his eyes away from me with a worried look on his face. "How. Long. Is the contract for Benji?" I repeat and he sighs and mumbles the answer under his breath. "What was that? I didn't hear you" I say and he huffs."5 years" "WHAT! Benji, seriously, do you have any idea what you've gotten yourself into?" I ask angrily and he flinches. "Look I'm sorry OK, it was in the heat of the moment! I was still angry that my sister, my rock disappeared off the face of the earth!" he shouts at me and I grip my hair tightly. "For fuck sake, how am I supposed to clear this mess up if I don't know who your contractor is" I groan and I see Benji looking at me puzzled. "What? You think I'm gonna let YOU, my baby brother, sign your life away into this? Well you thought wrong Benji. I've been in a contract with a ring leader, I signed my life away for a good amount of time and even now, my life is not my own to do as I please with. No. I won't let you make the same mistake that I did" I say and I hear a sniffle. Looking up I see Benji crying, being emotional is not my strong point but he's my little brother so I should probably TRY at least to comfort him. Standing from the chair I was sitting on, I make my way over to where Benji is and pull him to me in a comforting embrace. He wraps his arms around me and clings to me like he used to do when he was little. "I-I'm s-sorry Raelyn, I-I didn't know what e-else to d-do. I-I'm so s-sorry" he stutters out through his tears and I take a deep breath stroking his hair. "It's ok Benji, it's alright I promise. I'll fix it, I swear and I'm not going anywhere until I've fixed this" I swear to him as I continue to hug him to me whilst he sobs. Soldiers always keep their word. I think to myself as I press a kiss to the top f Benji's head, he may be bigger now but he will always be my little brother. And I will do anything to save him. Looks like I'm going to a street fight...
