The Fighters Return Book Two

Raelyn's POV

"Easy there reaper, wouldn't want to give your identity away in a place like this" Helix's lips twitch slightly and I feel like baring my teeth at the overconfident bastard.   Leaning forward I press the blade harder against his throat and watch as he gasps slightly as a drop of blood gathers on my blade. 

"Don't push me Donovon" I hiss using his real name which he frowns at  "tell your idiots to put their weapons away or I'll happily remove them myself" at his nod I lower my blade and step back. Helix makes a hand gesture signalling for them to lower their firearms which they do reluctantly. Judging by their tenseness they're new. I shift my stance and nod for the guys to relax although Benji looks a little shaken I admire the brave face he has on. 

I grab my bag from where I dropped it and place it on the dresser and begin to remove my sweatpants and my jacket along with my oversized shirt that I may or may not have stolen from Phoenix. 

"Why have you bought newbies with you Helix, it's not like you to take on fresh blood" I state and he hums his agreement as his eyes rake over my figure. I hear Phoenix grunt and come to stand at my side. I roll my eyes and turn to look up at Phoenix who's now standing beside me I tap his arm. "Easy big guy, he doesn't stand a chance," I say softly and his eyes glint in satisfaction as he reads into my words. 

"I see" Helix mutters and I sigh as I turn my attention back to him. For once, he doesn't look like the cocky prick he usually is, he looks, lonely, broken almost and I frown before clearing my throat.  " Are you Benji's management?" I ask him and he looks puzzled for a moment so I gesture to my little brother. His eyes light up in recognition but he shakes his head. "No, I'm not but I think I know who is." He states shooting Phoenix a stone-cold look and I tense again. Whatever he's about to say I have a feeling I'm not going to like it. 

"Who is it then? I ask, we have about an hour to burn before I need to jump into the ring but for that to happen I need to find out who Benji's management is. 

"He goes by the name Stone but his real name is Hunter." I hear  Phoenix's sharp intake of breath and the sound of his gun hitting the ground. 

"Who the hell is Hunter?" 

The silence is thick with tension before Phoenix manages to collect his thoughts. 

"Hunter is my twin brother, I haven't seen him in, years" he explains and I feel the cogs turning in my brain trying to remember him mentioning the fact that he had a sibling but nothing comes to mind and then I remember something and my eyes widen, my stomach turns slightly. 

"That night... It wasn't  you that  I  saw first was it?" I ask scared to hear the answer as the memories from that awful night replay in my head.  Phoenix shakes his head as pain flares through his eyes. "No, it wasn't" 

"Raelyn can I speak to you in private for a moment?" I hear Helix ask quietly and I hesitate for a moment before nodding. "The guys can wait outside for a minute, also Helix, I know Micah tattled so don't think for a second that I'm not gonna kick his ass when I see him next." I tell him and he snorts but nods. 

"I'm not leaving you alone with him Raelyn. You've got  to be kidding me" Phoenix argues as everyone begins to file out the room and I sigh tiredly, I'm not in the mood for arguments today. 

"Look Phoenix we'll only be a minute, all of you are outside the door which is the only way out of the room as that window is jammed shut. We're only talking." I tell him but he still looks ready to protest. Stepping closer to him I swallow my nervousness at being rejected and hold my arms open for him. Those enchanting eyes of his widen at my actions but he smiles as he practically floats to me. I sigh relishing in the comfort his arms bring me and I feel him take a few calming breaths. I stand on my tip toes and press a soft kiss to his lips which makes his eyes brighten. His arms tighten around me and I smile back at him. 

"I'll be fine Nyx, go keep an eye on the crew out there make sure they ain't drawing blood or anything" I joke letting him go and pushing him in the direction of the door. 

As it shuts quietly behind him I huff out a breath and take and lean up against the dresser as Helix takes a seat on the couch. I raise a brow at him before gesturing for him to talk. 

"I'm here to offer you a deal, given the circumstances I think you'll be interested..."

There you have it my little butterflies! another long-awaited update! 

so what do you think the deal is? Is Helix a good guy or a bad guy? 

I hope you guys enjoy this update, I might try and get another one up tonight or tomorrow if I can, depending on if my Wifi and laptop wants to get along -_- 

Also, as sad as it is to say this story will be coming to an end soon, not too soon but  fairly soon as I really want to get this story wrapped up but I do have exciting things planned for the future :)
