"Umm, mum. Can I ask you something?" I'm beginning to be nervous.

Why am I nervous? She's my mother after all.

"Yeah, but make it quick I need to start getting dinner ready."

"About that.." I'm a nervous wreck

"What do you mean? Don't you want what I have planed for you." Mum is so calm its almost frightening.

"Well I was wondering if Ali and I could just go out for dinner? She's my best friend and stuff is kind of hard for her at the moment." I begin to explain.

I don't want mum to know everything that Ali told me because I promised that I wouldn't tell anyone, not even family. A promise is a promise.

"Oh. Umm yeah I guess." Mums' face has gone into a frown and she's now just looking at the floor.

I feel really bad but Ali needs me to be with her. No mum and no Grace.

"Thanks mum!" I smile, hoping that she would return it.

Her smile is fake but I don't blame her.

"Don't stay out all night. If you are, stay at Ali's. Just don't be roaming the streets. I don't trust those drunk people out late. And also, is she okay?" Mum whispers so Ali doesn't hear.

"Okay. Thanks mum. I think that we're just going out for dinner. If plans change I'll text you. She's fine, just teenage problems." I hug mum and begin to walk back to Ali to tell her the details.

"Cool!" Her excitement is visible to me.

We begin to both walk to my room and get ready.

But she doesn't have anything to wear. She's kind of is the same size as me. She's taller though but I have a larger bust. It should be okay. I just hope she likes at least something from my wardrobe. She's never said that she didn't like any of it but I don't think that she would be mean to tell me the truth.

Maybe I should buy more clothes

I will. One day.

Just not this week. Maybe next. I'm not doing anything then so yeah I will next week.
