That One Night

Chapter 15

Finally, after driving for about twenty-five minutes to Niall's place, we finally arrive.

I look around to sink in the view. It pretty much just looks like a miniature town. Street light shine the way, roadway for cars and everyone has their own small house to live in.

Well, they're not exactly small. They're only one storey, and it looks like they would only have two bedrooms, one bathroom and a lounge room. But that is pretty big if only one person is living there, just like how Niall is the only person that's living in his apartment.

I get out of the car as Niall turns off the engine, while I'm still taking in this place. It really is a nice place. I would even live here if it wasn't so far away from Central Queensland University, my university.

I follow Niall until we stand outside of a fairly large apartment. It must be Niall's. It is bigger than the rest of them. 

"Here we are." Niall says as he digs into his pockets.

He digs out a set of keys and places the only golden key into the lock on the large white front door.

As we step in my jaw drops.

"wow!" The words slip out of my mouth before I have the chance to stop myself.

Niall throws his keys onto a marble table in the kitchen.

"It's not that good. I've lived in better places." Niall shrugs. 

He must be joking, this place is amazing.

It's big enough for a family of four to live in here and still have heaps of room for more people to stay.

"You must be lonely living here all by yourself." I say.

I don't really know what else to say to bring up a conversation to get rid of the awkward silence.

"Kinda. But I'm usually never here, I'm always at clubs or at the lads' place." Niall replies as he sits down on a large sofa in the lounge room.

"Okay, cool." That's all that I could think of saying to reply.

Niall gestures for me to come into the lounge room. I accept his offer and stand just inside the doorway, leaning against the wall.

"You are allowed to sit down" Niall laughs.

I chuckle lightly and sit on a comfy chair opposite of Niall.
