Malias POV

It's been two days now since the whole questioning me at the park took place.

The whole question keeps bothering me, what exactly did she mean when she said if somebody had approached me, for someone who always masked her feelings sure as hell didn't mask them well this time.

Worry was written all over her face, she seemed out of place, confused and tired. For once I felt satisfied that I could see through her and noticed how out of place she utterly was.

Last night I had a dream that escalated to a nightmare, it got me pretty shakened up but when I woke up and realized it was only a dream, I let out a breath.

I quickly stood up and knelt by my bedside and prayed those prayers mama thought me before she changed.

I missed the old her sometimes, she was my best friend. I told her secrets and she told me hers, we had a very strong bond and I thought we were inseparable but I thought wrong.

This one time I remembered when she...

'Ding ding'

The bell interrupted my thoughts.

Finally school was over, I never thought this day would end. I parked all my books from the desk and took my bag, I walked fast not really wanting to listen to whatever the teacher was saying.

"If he was giving assignments then I will just check the schools portal where teachers updated our assignment and assessments" I spoke to myself as I walked into the very rowdy hallway of the school.

I sported some of the girls hanging by my locker, I haven't really been on talking terms with them.

A lot has been happening and I didn't want them to sense something was wrong because I wasn't ready to start reviving the incidents that happened in the PAST.

I say past because all that happened to me had come and gone and definitely it wasn't going to come back and replay itself just to punish me because I will definitely die then.

I decided not to drop my books in my locker instead I took them with me home.

Who knows I might be in need of them. So I waved at them, gave a sheepish smile and turned the opposite direction away from my locker, the girls and the school compound.

****

I finally reached Masons place and I was soaked in sweat, and my hands felt heavy with the book in hand. I should have just dropped it in my locker, talked for a while with girls and headed home with no stress but no.

I listened to my stupid mind, telling me to avoid them for sometime, even if I could avoid them, it wouldn't last cause I see them everyday of my high school life.

I pushed open the door with my free hand and walked into the eerily quiet apartment.

I closed the door with my butt and walked into the kitchen hoping to find Mason there but I was only greeted with his black leather jacket.

Dropping my books on the counter and my bag on the stool, the one place I would want to be now was infront of the fridge.

But decided against it and went upstairs to the room and the sight in front of me wasn't pretty.

I gasped. "Mason...."  I sounded more angry than shocked.

"I swear it's not what it looks like" he said, I folded my arms and glared at him.

"OK, its what it looks like" he stood awkwardly and ran his hand through his hair.

"I can't believe this". I flipped him off and stomped off to the kitchen, angrily opening the fridge and taking out a carton of orange juice.
