CH 29

Mason's POV

After that great bonding moment with my mum, we went ahead to wash the dishes and clean up the table.

"Mum, its time for you to get some rest" she glared at me. I know she could take care of herself but she can't just expect me to not be bothered about her.

As she was about to say something my phone rang, and seeing the caller ID made my heart bolt.

"Mom its Keith" she motioned for me to answer the call.

"Hey man" I tried sounding natural but I'm sure Keith could hear the worry laced with my tone.

"Hi, Mason I think you need to come over" I wasn't liking the way he sounded, it made all my senses heighten.

"Is something wrong, has Malia woken up, what happened, just tell me already" At this point, I'm so worried right now I could care less about my tone.

All that mattered was Malia and the thought of her being in danger and Keith not telling me if she's fine has got me blazing.

"She's more than awake, just get here"

Keith hung up on me with his last sentence.

"I'm going to kill him mom, forget him being family, I will kill him"

Whyy would he call and cause me to panic, I hate how I'm feeling at the moment.

It feels like something bad has happened, I didn't even know my mum was talking to me till she snapped her fingers in front of me. Now every sound could be heard loud and clear.

"We need to go to the hospital son"

I could only nod, wait did she say "We" there is no we.

"Mum you need to stay back, We" I motioned my hands between us.

"Are not going anywhere" She rolled her eyes and walked away.

I forgot she was my mother, there's no telling her what to do. Sighing heavily, I trailed behind her.

Once we got to the parking lot of the hospital, in my eyes things looked different.

More people where here and many police cars were around, this doesn't feel right at all, I hope Malia is alright.

If anything happened to her, I'm going to hunt the bastards that dared to touch her.

"Are you coming or you're just going to sit there and stare"

My mom called out as she stepped down.

I have been getting lost in thought since Keith called.

"I'm coming mom, you go ahead"  I told her the ward and she left after giving me the "you better come soon" look.

Pulling the keys from the ignition, I took the deepest breath that could be drawn and came down from the car.

"Hope all is well" with those words I walked up to the entrance.

The police where everywhere on each floor either interacting with a doctor or nurse, it seemed more like an interrogation and as I reached the floor Malia was in, the whole place was filled with officers.

I got that strange feeling again, that something was wrong, this time it was stronger than the others.

Upon reaching the area of Malias ward, I saw a policeman come out with Keith and they shook each other's hands.

My steps quickened, walking turned to jogging. The policeman left on my arrival and I wasn't liking the look on Keith's face.

"Is she alright?" That was the first thing that popped out of my mouth. He didn't reply just sighed.

"Come on man say something" I demanded.

"Promise not to do anything stupid"

He looked up at me and I agreed.

"Malia, she's" he rubbed the back of his head.

I knew he was scared to tell me, I could have just walked in and seen for myself what the case was but was counting on him to tell me.

"Why don't you go see for yourself"

OK, Keith is freaking me out here. I left him and walked into the room, everything was normal, just my mom looking sad and an empty bed.

"Mason, she's gone" my mom spoke up.

"She's gone where? home?? Where??" My voice was louder now, I was loosing my mind what does she mean gone.

"I'm sorry man but she left"

This was all so confusing, Keith, my mum, the police, everything wasn't making sense.

If she left, wouldn't she have come to the house or called. Malia won't leave here, she knows Keith.

Things weren't just adding up.

"Can you please explain when you mean "gone" because I do not understanding anything right now"

Mom took a hold of my hand and squeezed it, it was always her way of reassuring us that everything would be fine.

Keith sighed "well she woke up few hours after you left and started screaming , 'Ben is in danger, Ben is in danger', I didn't get what she meant so we sedated her, she put up a good fight though but before the drug kicked in she told me to tell you, they have  "Ben, and they will take her"

My mind was going in circles, things just got worst. It seems like everything was planned well from the beginning.

I wasn't sure what to do, where to start from or how to find that woman.

Again and again I pondered on and on and on. Finding a solution to the messed up situation and found nothing, if she has Malia's mom and her brother does it mean she took Malia also, that right there was a stupid question, of course she will be the one who took my princess.

"Then when I came in she was gone and this was here" he brought out a piece of paper that had my name written on it.

"It appears whoever took her left you a message, I didn't give it to the police because I was certain you would want to read this."

I opened the letter and instantly my fists balled.

I have all of them now, how does it feel to be helpless??
I'm going to keep them here for as long as I wish but there would be no fun in that.
I am giving  you 72hours to find them and stop this,
Or
Stay without the one you love.

Crumbling the paper in my hands, I walked out of the ward not even glancing back when my mom called me but her word made me scoff.

"Don't do something stupid" She yelled.

What I was about to do was worst than stupid. I was going to make her pay.

This is officially WAR!.
