"One day I set fire
To everything
I thought I was
And began to learn
Who I was""She is brilliant. Gosh I love working with her. Do you think Webber will try to keep her around?" Yang said, studying all she could about fetus in fetus surgery. There's only been 1 other successful case and Dr. Beauregard was the one who performed the surgery.
"I hope so. She's hot" Alex stated, trying to be all manly.
"Is that all you think about?" Yang asked, honestly curious but with a slight undertone of irritation.
Alex just shrugged in response and continued reading.
"I can't believe she's Derek's ex" Meredith said, thinking. Millions of thoughts were running through her head after what Derek said about her.
"Eh, she's Dr. Sapphire Beauregard. She can do whatever and whoever the hell she wants" Yang said. "And clearly, she broke up with him so I don't think you have anything to worry about"
Meredith nodded in reply, hoping Christina was right."Why are you so happy?" Mark asked Jackson. Jackson's face seemed to have a smile etched on, which contrasted with Marks depressed, uneasy look.
"I had lunch with Dr Beauregard. She's amazingly brilliant and funny too. She's not stuck up at all. Nothing like I would've expected" Jackson said, happily. Mark sighed.
"I know" mark said, ambiguously, walking away so he didn't have to hear anymore. Jackson had a confused look on his face, but shrugged of Marks commentsTurning the corner Mark saw her. Standing there with her hand on her hip, talking to Callie.
"Oh that's amazing! Ortho is such an interesting field. You've done great work, Dr. Torres" Dr. Beauregard said.
Unluckily for him, Callie caught his eye and smiled widely.
"Oh Dr. Beauregard, this is one of the best plastic surgeons and one of my best friends, Dr. Mark Sloan. Mark, this is..." Callie started to introduce, as the pair looked to each other.
"Dr. Sapphire Beauregard. Yes, we've met before. Still as beautiful as ever" Mark stated, a bit awkwardly. Sapphire bit her bottom lip, looking at the man who was her best friend so many years ago.
"It's nice to see you too, Mark" Sapphire spoke, trying her best to put on a fake smile and not be terribly awkward. Mark saw right through it.
"That's great you already know each other! We're all going to Joes tonight if you would like to join? It's this bar across the street." Callie invited excitedly.
"Sure, I'll stop by for a bit. Sorry I have to go see the patient, but I'll see you later Dr. Torres, Mark" Sapphire said before leaving."Why did you do that?" Mark asked, a bit tense.
"She's awesome, really badass. Did you know she was on a trip once in the middle of the amazon and had to do an amputee. Sapphire is hard core, even as a neonatal" Callie said.
"She's Derek's childhood and high school sweetheart and my best friend" Mark explained.
"Oh...what happened?" Callie asked. Mark sighed.
"Sapphire declined Derek's proposal after graduation and went to Harvard" mark explained. Callie raised her eyebrow.
"What else, Mark Sloan? I know you better than that." Callie said.
"I still am in love with her" Mark whispered, and Callie nodded, understanding.
"Does she know?" Callie asked.
"No" Mark replied, before he went to go check on some patients.Seeing her again brought back a lot of memories, ripping open the wounds he tried so hard to heal.
Sapphires POV
They're both here?! This was an absolute nightmare.
I didn't mean to keep tabs on both of them, but my mom always told me all the gossip. Even heard about the whole Addison Montgomery fiasco. I would have never imagined them fixing that to work together.
I don't know why I agreed to going with drinks with Dr Torres, and basically the whole group of doctors. This was going to end badly.I missed them. They were both my best friends. We were the three musketeers.
I couldn't believe they were here. I didn't know how to handle them.
