Burning Grave

Words hit mine chest at full blast,

drifted down stream for another lover to sweep you up fast,

revolving door keeps having a re-cast,

hooked in deep as eyes welded over as their next gullible catch,

mix-matched –

just light the bridge connecting us with an already blazing match;

breath becoming rasp,

waited underneath dithered smoke –

left alone for soot to claim throat for grasp,

heart stuttering as gulps quiver a battled choke;

you sparred own soul for one more high,

dissembled ears for mine cries,

set pupils galloping upon flames as hurtful truth wavers to combine,

I'm aware a fool wears mine body as this sensation was never right;

left unappreciated care,

tossed touting loneliness.... along with feeling of scared,

where use to be our bridge we shared,

separate paths declared;

whereas our bond concaved,

turned spine much like resembled soul trailing away unfazed,

mine sanity ushered to be saved,

for the road I've chosen, calls out a different directional mind sway –

leave behind disappointment,

resentment,

rain-filled memories overshadow eminent –

senses approve sending every bit we had into burning grave,

appreciate the past – but, can't let it rule minute by minute days,

spread fingers open-wide; direct a cheerio wave.
