The Alpha's Children

Chapter 21

We must have layed there together for hours after we made love a couple more times. I smiled at the memories and checked my phone while Luke was asleep.

From Charlie: Where are you Cupcake?!

From Charlie: Seriously Aria answer your phone.

From Charlie: ANSWER THIS DAMN PHONE RIGHT NOW CUPCAKE! <3

From Tyler: Babe! :)

From Jase: Yo little sis. Haven't seen you in forever which is sad considering we live together. :(

I rolled my eyes and texted Charlie and Jase back saying I would be home in a few and then texted Tyler and told him I would see him tonight. I took a shirt of Luke's and pulled it over my head. Then I put my jeans back on and grabbed my bra and shirt. I took my panties and set them on the bed next to Luke. I wrote a note that said, Love you baby<3 had to go home, but here's a little souvenir ;) I'll be back later tonight. Love ya Lukey<3 I tip toed out of the room and out of his dorm. I quickly slipped into mine and gave a guilty smile when I saw Kellan, Jase, and Charlie all standing there with scowls on their faces. 

I made an attempt to dash to my room, but was quickly caught by Charlie. His arms wrapped around my waist and he dragged me to the couch. He sat down and pulled me on top of him. I blushed deeply when he breathed in and scowled at me.

"Why do you smell like him?"

"I-Uh... Charlie can we talk somewhere else?" I nervously looked at my brothers to see their looks of confusion. Jase stepped forward and pulled me from Charlie. He pulled the hair away from my neck and his eyes widened before he backed away and hit Kellan's shoulder. At the time I was a little unsure of what they were looking at, until I remembered. He marked me. My eyes widened as I bolted for the bathroom and locked the door. I heard pounding on the other side as they demanded to know what was going on. 

As I looked into the mirror I gasped. Our initials,LA,  were almost tattooed onto my skin in fancy lettering. A wolf was next to it, standing up, almost looking at the something. If you looked closely you could see a fleck of green in its eye. It was beautiful and very small so it wasn't as if everyone would notice. I loved it, but was nervous at the same time. It made everything real.  

The knocks continued on the other side of the door and I took a deep breath before opening the door and facing the three angry faces. I frowned and sat down on the couch motioning for them to follow. They all sat down around me and looked at me, waiting for an explanation.

"Luke Trex is my mate. I met him on the first day we got here, but have been avoiding him and dealing with a lot of things because... well... He's a professor here. He teaches my history class, but he's only 24! So I mean, he's not that old. Anyways, I wanted to wait until I graduated. We fought about it and then I-I rejected him because I thought he cheated. I was wrong though and when I died, it made everything so clear. I can't live without Luke. He's my other half and I should have told you guys right away, but I didn't want to face the truth. I was in denial. I'm sorry." 

I hung my head and felt a pair of arms circle around me. I peeked my head up to see Kellan hugging me tightly. He gave me a small smile. 

"I'm glad you found your mate." I smiled and hugged him back. A door slammed and I noticed Charlie was gone. I frowned and ran a hand through my hair. Jase was looking at me with hooded eyes and I knew he was hiding something. I asked Kellan to leave and sat next to Jase. 

"You okay?"

"Yeah... I just can't believe you found your mate."

"I'm sorry Jase... I wanted to tell you, but I couldn't."

"I-I found mine too."

"WHAT?! WHO?! WHEN?!" His eyes looked dull as he locked his gaze with mine.

"She rejected me. Her name is Laney, but she doesn't want a mate. She's beautiful Ar. She's got golden hair and the prettiest green eyes that lit up when they first saw me. Her skin is flawless and she's a total bad ass. She's everything I wanted her to be. I love her and she doesn't want me." His eyes began to water and my heart broke in two for him. I wrapped my arm around his shoulder and he leaned his head on me. We sat like that for awhile and I promised him that I was going to help. 

I helped Jase pick out something cute to wear and then we set out on our mission. We walked for about an hour around the campus, until Jase froze. His eyes widened and I noticed his eyes darken. I followed his eyes and grinned when I saw the blonde girl that locked eyes with him. Her green eyes brightened and she brushed a piece of her straightened blonde hair behind her ear. She was wearing a short black skirt with a tight white tank top and high leather boots. Her bangs swept across her forehead and she had a black beanie with a skull on top of her head. Definitely, not quite what I had pictured for Jase, but if she made him happy, then who was I to judge. I dragged Jase over to her and shooed away the boys that were scattered around her. She was most definitely gorgeous in a punky sort of way. 

For a few seconds they just kind of stared at each other. Then, she finally spoke. 

"I-I told you I don't want a mate." Jase's eyes drooped and my heart stung, so I couldn't imagine how she felt, but I had a pretty good idea when her eyes began to water and she placed a hand on his arm. I had to fix this.

"Look, Laney I never wanted a mate either. But now I have the most amazing guy and this is your chance. Jase isn't your mate for no reason. He was made for you. He won't hurt you, ever, and if he does come to me and I will personally kill him for you." 

She smiled softly at this and pulled Jase into a hug. I sighed and smiled before shaking my head and walking away. Now I had to find Charlie.
