Michael's POV

The entire drive into town, Michael kept remembering the dreams he had been having lately. He saw nothing but a white wolf in his dreams and never a human version of the mate he was destined to have. He felt a strong pull to her, and she was so much more beautiful than he had ever imagined she would be. Michael was always one to love a curvy woman, but damn, she had some curves in all the right places. He would glance over at her when he would come to a stop light and see the frame of her face then work his eyes down her body. This was a woman with natural curves, they weren't worked off with all of the exercise a wolf would get.

"I hope you like home cooking, where I'm taking you is a place that is all they serve. Did you hear me or did you fall asleep on me?"  Rae's head popped up, she didn't fall asleep but his words isn't what she was paying attention to, that was far from what she was paying attention to, she had been swiping glances of his physique every chance she got. "Oh, um, yeah, I haven't really had any home cooking since I , well yeah, I do, thanks." Michael was hoping he could get more out of her, like where she was from and such. He pulled up at the restaurant and went around to open her door, "come on, let's go eat, I was gonna eat at home till I saw you walking, I was raised better, my mama would have my head if I hadn't stopped and picked you up." Rae smiled at his comment and climbed out of the truck.

When they got to the door Michael looked around and saw his sister before he saw anyone else and noticed her come walking straight over, he just held his hand up to her and shook his head. She knew that was the sign to stay back and not say a word. Ever since their father became ill, Michael took over as Alpha of the pack, even if Kalisa didn't want to listen to her brother otherwise, she did have to listen to him in that nature.

Michael led Rae over to a table in the back, seeing his mama, he waved at her and held the chair out for Rae. Rae smiled at him and noticed a smaller, beautiful, female version of Michael walking toward them. The lady leans over and kisses Michael's cheek, "Hey Mama, I thought you were off today, what are you doing here?"  "Libby called out, her son had to go to the er, poor thing, they had to rush him into surgery for his appendix"  Michael looked at his mama, shaking his head he gave Libby a call, "Hey Libbs, how's Conner?" "Oh Michael, I'm so glad you called he's  just out of surgery, the doctor said we got him here right before it burst." "Libbs, is there anything we can do? I'm sure Darren had to miss work and I know you did."  Hearing the phone change hands Michael waited for an answer. "Michael, I don't want to put you or the pack out, I know Libbs and I had to take off for this, I can't ask you of anything." "Darren, it's who we are, you're family, we are here for you, let us." "Michael, are you really sure about this?" "Darren, I am more than sure, it's a week tops, we can help, it will be fine."  Darren sighed in defeat but knew that Michael was correct, "Ok Michael, thank you, I appreciate it."

Michael asked Rae if she minded waiting for him to finish up some business and he called Kalisa to the table. "Sis, we have enough among everything to help Libbs and Darren out for about a week, right?" "Of course we do Michael, we can even do meals from here for the week." Michael smiled at her and nodded then glanced at Rae walking back over, "I'm sorry about that, somethings come up at times and I have to take care of them."  Rae smiled at him and nodded, remembering how the would be Alpha, back home was nothing like that. He wouldn't even be an Alpha unless he could take her. "It's ok, I understand. It's great that they have you to help them through times like this, where I'm from they don't have anyone."  Michael tilted his head in wonder, not knowing how there could be a place without a proper Alpha. "So, what can we get you to eat? I highly suggest my mama's pork chops. I would eat them for all three meals, every day if I could."  Rae laughed at him and nodded, "Well I guess I'll have the pork chops than, and a baked potato, oh, and some black eyed peas and sweet tea to drink please." Looking at her, he thought she looked a little hungrier than what she was saying so he looked to his sister, "hey Kalisa, can you bring one of the big dishes of mac n cheese to share, it's always good." Kalisa looked at Rae and smiled. "Of course, big bro, we just got it out of the oven too." "Oh, we have fresh blueberry shortcake, cheesecake, and red velvet cake today too.

After they ate, Rae and Michael sat back with desserts and coffee to relax. "So, Rae, can you tell me where you are from?
