DECEMBER 30TH, 2016

THE ELEVATOR DOORS opened up to the vast living room, and Tony Stark was standing in the middle of it. Both Beck and Steve stepped out of the elevator, on both sides of Cynthia as they walked towards Tony, who was wearing sweats, and a black long—sleeved tee—shirt.

"Captain America!" Tony exclaimed, "Nice to see you have more friends than just Criss Angel and wings."

Rolling his eyes, Steve replied, "You promised not to call them that."

"Sorry, it just slipped out, honestly." Tony explained, and Cynthia smiled, already liking her first impression of his humor. They would most likely get along great, if everything went well. "So, is this Cynthia? She looks younger than you said she was, Steve, I don't know," Tony said, and Clara replied, before Steve could, "When I was twenty-two, I burnt out my hormones. No more aging, no more kids."

"I want to say that was a brilliant idea, but probably not in front of these two, right?" Tony replied, glancing up at Beck and Steve. Cynthia hid her grin as she looked back at Beck, and then asked, "How about you show me that work shop of yours?"

About half an hour later, and constant reassuring to both Beck and Steve, the two men finally left Tony's apartment to let Cynthia and Tony work alone. "So. Tell me about yourself," Tony said, handing Cynthia some paper to make blue prints off of.

"Well . . . I'm fifty-four, soon to be fifty-five in a few days," Cynthia started, and Tony said, "Whatever you're using to make yourself so good looking at your age, I want some."

Cynthia laughed, and continued, "I'm a real big fan of Jane Austen, I had a short lived career in auto-mechanics, I've worked as a dishwasher in England, I've changed my name twice, and can speak six languages—"

"Really?" Tony asked, "which ones?"

"English, Russian, Romanian, German, Spanish, and French. Some of it basic, some of it more advanced," Cynthia explained. "I can read in only three of those languages—German, Russian, and English."

"Impressive," Tony replied, making a face at her, which caused her chuckle. "So, I've read your S.H.I.E.L.D. file, but I wanted to hear your own impression of yourself. What you brought up first, and I have to say: I'm really, really, glad you didn't start off with Jane Austen."

Cynthia laughed, and then asked, "Shall we get to work?"

Cynthia, getting the tools she needed for work, impressed Tony with her blueprints, and her plans for Bucky's arm.
