APRIL 2ND, 2018

THE DAY HAD arrived.

Today, was Millie and Natalie's wedding. Everything was insanely stressful, especially for everyone involved in this wedding. The sparkly, flower print top Cynthia was wearing fit her perfectly; her pencil skirt fitting her perfectly as well. Dinah had helped her pick out this outfit, telling her, "If I could make it to the wedding, I would; but I don't want to invade, and I have to work to make up on that day."

"Are you almost ready?" Jamie shouted down the hallway, and Cynthia shouted back, "I'm completely ready, it's Bucky we're waiting on!"

Cynthia could hear Jamie's laugh from her room, and she applied peach lipstick to her lips. Spraying some perfume, Cynthia took one last look at her hair, making sure her wig was still in place. She knew that most of Millie's friends and family labeled her as Millie's "bad mouthed blonde friend," so Cynthia chose to wear a wig—she didn't want to stir up trouble there, on Millie and Natalie's special day.

Checking her purse to make sure she still had everything she needed (her mom's old scarf she used for her hair, and new products that she now needed to carry with her everywhere) and then walked out into the living room. "Wow," Jamie said, "You look like you've walked right out of a sixties dream."

Cynthia smiled and laughed, replying, "That was my goal. For some reason, I'm just feeling like dressing like my mother."

The two were interrupted when a knock pounded on the door, Jamie opening his apartment door to see see Millie's step-father, Walter. "Millie's needing you outside, she's currently trying not to cry," Walter explained, and Cynthia tried to disguise her smile as she followed Walter down the hall and towards the elevator. "I'm glad you're here, Cynthia," Walter continued, "Even though the rest of the family doesn't like you, I do—you've definitely had Millie's influence in your life."

"Thank you," Cynthia replied, "Millie means so much to me—and to finally see her getting married is great. I've been friends with her for over thirty years, and she's become a good influence in my life. At one point, it was almost my mission to keep Millie out of HYDRA's business—which, I did—and she's . . . She's been great."

As they stepped out of the elevator, and into the lobby, Cynthia could only see Millie sitting in the backseat of her car, sniffling and waving at her face, her veil lifted behind her head. Maisie sat beside her, waving at her face as well, and this time, Cynthia's laugh couldn't be contained. Walter chuckled, and Millie took sight of them.

Waving Maisie's hands off her, Millie opened the car door with a rapid pace, and stumbled out onto the sidewalk. "My god, let's get you together, shall we?" Cynthia said, inspecting Millie's face and tsk-ing. "Thankfully, I have makeup in my bag."
