AUGUST 27TH, 2017

"YOU'RE MAKING A mistake," Rylee said as she walked into the office. "I don't know anything about where they've taken her."

"So, it's a group of people?" Jamie asked dryly, "do you know anyone in that group?"

Rylee started to protest, and Millie crossed her arms, and snapped, "Save your protests, it won't do you any good. Where the hell is my daughter?"

Helplessly looking at the group of people she used to call her family, Cynthia crossed her arms, staring down Rylee as she asked, "You're not who you say you are, are you?"

Rylee didn't say anything as Steve and Sam walked into the room, holding a small shoe box. "We've been able to help the police identify the little girl from the security camera footage you recovered. And . . . You were right, Cynthia. That little girl is not sitting in that chair." Steve explained, and Rylee's face paled, her eyes widening. "That little girl, who was identified as Maya Jensen, is alive and currently living in California. The police also know she has something to do with the kidnapping, because when they showed a picture of her to Bucky, he freaked out and said that was the girl who took Maisie."

"So they found her?" Millie asked, her tone hopeful, and Sam shook his head, saying, "They're searching, we promise. But they want to search New York first before doing a nationwide search."

Millie fired a deathly glare at Rylee, who wouldn't crack and tell them anything. Jamie sat down silently across the room, staring at the floor. "If you were truly trying to hide that you had sour intentions towards my sister, then . . . There will be no aisle for you to walk down."

Cynthia bit her lip, knowing how hard this for everyone. It was practically set in stone that she, Bucky, Millie, and Jamie would be coming along while Rylee would be put on trial, since the police had been finding evidence of Rylee shoplifting from countless expensive shops, and then reselling them to people on the street.

Rylee gasped, saying, "You wouldn't threaten the wedding."

Jamie got up from his seat, ignoring everyone else in the room. He stood still in the doorway, then said quietly as he looked down, "You threatened it when you made the choice to let my best friend get kidnapped."

As Jamie hooked up his iphone to the computer, he muttered under his breath, "Thank god for Apple letting us be super creepy."

"What was that?" Sam asked, and Jamie said a quick, "nothing," before continuing on. "I hope she's got her phone on her, and that it hasn't run out of battery power," Steve said, leaning over Jamie's shoulder.
