Chapter 5

NOTE: SORRY!! I'm awful at updating. I just get super busy. But tonight I'll be posting every part to this story as a way of saying sorry. I also want to promote a new story I'm working on. I'm writing it as if it were a play and am titling it "Just Another Teenage Drama". OK! Enjoy the chapter and the chapters after that.

Ch5

They walked casually up the stairs, hiding their back packs inside the suit.

"What's our best bet at finding Leeway?"

"He won't be too far from the laser or the jewel. So if we find either one first, we'll find him."

"Uh, Bella?" He stopped and pointed at a window. In the window was a book on display with a picture in it. The book was ancient as were the drawings. Bella and Luke walked over to it.

Upon seeing the image, Bella staggered back.

"It looks just like you." He said admiring the detail. "But it's impossible, right? It's what, thousands of years old?" He started to read the inscription. "Shall hold all the power in the palm of her hand." He looked around the picture, seeing the jewel around her neck.

"What does that mean?"

"I don't know, but let's take this back to headquarters as well, have them analyze it."

Bella nodded. "First let's find what we came for." They continued walking and found another flight of stairs. Looking up, they saw the laser pointing towards the top of the volcano, and on the top sat a mirror.

"This is getting more and more ridiculous." She said, in awe of the size of the laser.

"Yeah. Okay, so here's the laser, but where's Leeway and the diamond?"

Suddenly there was a loud click and a stern muffled voice.

"Don't move!" It said, "put your hands up and turn around slowly!"

Bella and Luke both rolled their eyes and put their hands up as they turned around. "Did we do something wrong?" Bella asked innocently.

"No one is supposed to be up here! Authorized personnel only! Can't you read?! Mr. Leeway is going to have a long talk with you two!"

Bella and Luke looked at each other from the side then back at the nervous man in the white suit.

"Come along now!" He said, pulling them across the hall, passing the casement of the book. He typed in a code on a panel beside the book, and a wall slid open. He pushed them in and they continued walking down a long hall with windows lining the wall. It looked on to a big spacious room where thousands of workers were working on a dozen more lasers. Bella and Luke both kept their mouths shut, but they knew they were thinking the same thing. "Oh. Crap."

They were thrown into a windowed room and got a clear view of what was happening with the new lasers.

"This is bad Luke, this is very bad! How are we going to get rid of all of this!?"

"Well, let's think. There's C4 and Propane downstairs and a dozen lasers. So we can destroy laser with laser and then just blow the place with the C4.

Bella let out a nervous sigh as she paced back and forth. "How are we going to do that without getting ourselves killed?"

"We'll figure something out, we always do...come on, sit down. We can't be fidgeting when Leeway comes in here."

She placed her hands on her hips then sat next to him. "Well he better get in here soon. My helmet is getting stuffy."

Luke chuckled and smiled at her.
