Chapter 12

Ch12

The exit door was in sight.

8, 7, 6, 5.

They rushed out the door. A flash of light, blinding them from seeing the cliff they walked out to. Blakely was the first to drop off the cliff, and Bella came right after, but she managed to grab onto a rock that sat on the edge. The weight of Blakely and her sudden drop pulled on Bella's arm. A snap echoed through the white mountains along with Bella's scream. Then the whole building erupted into flames as it exploded.

"Bella!!?" Blakely screamed as her legs dangled in the air.

Bella continued to cry and scream from the physical and emotional pain rippling through her.

"Bella what happened?!"

"Shoulder! Ah!!" Her hand tightened around the cold stone, she could feel the sharp edges digging into her skin.

"Bella there's a helicopter!" Blakely exclaimed. "Just hold on!"

The wind from the helicopter swayed them from side to side. Two men slid the door open and let a latter loose, letting it fall by Blakely.

"Grab the latter!" Bella shouted to her.

Blakely grabbed a peg and placed both her feet on two others. "Okay, let go!"

Bella released her hand and a yelp came from her throat.

"Give me your hand!" The man said, leaning forward on the latter. Blakely was already safely in the chopper.

"I can't move it!"

The man looked up and motioned to the pilot to inch him closer. He soon was pressed against her. He wrapped his arm around her stomach and lifted her from the cliff. "Lift us up!" He shouted.

Bella was still crying when they pulled her into the chopper.

"Is there anyone else inside?!" The man asked as he took out his medicine briefcase.

Bella hung her head, she didn't know. She didn't know if Luke and Leeway survived or not. She didn't know if that was even a possibility.

"Her partner could still be alive!" Blakely shouted as she watched Bella's torn up face. "He fell over the railing when Leeway fell over. I couldn't pull them all up so he dropped into an abyss or something."

"We'll get a team to search the place. Ms. White, I need you to tell me what hurts."

She couldn't get her words out. She could only cry and scream.

"Her shoulder." Blakely said for her. "She caught me when we fell over the cliff and I guess the sudden pull knocked her arm out of place."

"Thank you." The man said as he rubbed on her shoulder.

"Chief newton is on the phone Ms. White!"

Bella shook her head, she couldn't talk. She needed time to cry.

The man took the phone. "Johnson...we have White and her sister...he's nowhere to be found...she's hurt, I don't know how badly her wounds are or if there are anymore, but her shoulder is out of place...no sir, she's not up for any conversation at the moment...yes sir, will do." He hung up and passed the phone back. He then took ahold of her arm and pulled it back.

She let out a scream of pain as he shoved her arm back into place, a pop echoing through the cabin.

"Is she gonna be okay?" Blakely asked with her eyebrows furrowed.
