Healing the Heart

Chapter 14

The smell of expensive cologne mixed with severely different strong scents of beer circled the room. I sat awkwardly with Rebecca and Kyndra, easily the two prettiest girls in school. Rebecca was tall with the perfect body, dark hair and huge brown eyes, she dressed fantasically in leather leggins, red wedge heels and a black cami while Kendal also had an amazing body, long blond/brownish hair, huge blue eyes and was wearing light blue high waist jeans, white heels and stunning blouse. You could tell by looking at them how rich they are, but no matter how rich and gorgeous they were it couldn't possibly make up for the horrible personality's.

I'm not usually the type of person to judge others, but these girls were exceptionally bad. They seemed overly keen for me to start hanging out with them. The both seemed nice..kind of. I sat there while they continuously stared lovingly at themselves in the mirrors and fakely giggled at everything the guys said. We were the only girls there out of the seven boys so the attention was mainly on us. Jake came over and sat on the arm of my chair and put his arm around me.

''You alright?'' He asked while sipping on his beer

''Yeah fine'' I answered

I think he realised my false enthusiasm.

''Can I get you a drink?''

''I don't think thats a good idea' I smirked

I looked up when I heard the doorbell ring.

Stephen and his friend Tyler off the team came in. I caught his eye right away. He looked at me with a confused glare.

''What are you doing here?'' He mocked

''I Eh''

''I invited her'' Jake said leaning closer to me

''Yep what he said''

''Oh cool well I'll leave yous to it'' He went to walk away

''Wait, hows Kendal?'' I asked

''Shes still a little pissed that I left her the other night to walk you home, she said I should of came find her first. Good ting I didn't tell her I had completly forgotten about her. ''

Jake let out a bust of laughter

''Oh God thats terrible I feel awful'' I said

''Don't, I'm just glad I got you home safe'' Stephen said smiling at me then walked off

''I'm gona go get another beer, sure I can'tget you anything?'' Jake asked

I shook my head then he went off to the kitchen.

''So, are you and Jake dating?'' Rebecca asked trying to squeeze the goss out of me

''I barely know Jake, he just came over earlier and asked me out so thats all for now.''

''Jakes my ex'' Rebecca blurted out

''Oh?''

''Yep, we dated for two years on and off. Just ended about 4 months ago.''

''Oh sorry, this is so awkward I-''

''No stop Lauren, I'm completely over him'' She giggled

I nodded and excused myself. I made my way into the kitchen were Jake was standing with a few guys off his team. He smiled when he see me and I walked over to him. He placed his ar on my lower back.

''Lauren, this is James and Shane'' He said pointing to each of the guys

''Hey'' I said nervously

''Alri'' They chorused happily

Jake nodded to them and turned around to me.

''You alright?'' He asked
