*Mary Lou's POV*

I pinched at the rolls of fat around my waist as I desperately looked for something black to hide my chubby stomach. Finally, I found an oversized black T-shirt with a big 'WIGGLES' printed on the front in rainbow colours. I silently blamed my over boring and orthodox mother for my terrible wardrobe and choice of clothes. I picked a pair of shabby shorts that ended half-way up my knees and dragged myself downstairs. As usual my Father was locked up in his office, engrossed in his work and too busy to spend time with his family. My mother however sat on a rickety chair knitting god knows what as she looked at me with disapproval. "Far too revealing dear. Run along to your room and dress yourself in a little more covering piece of clothing. May I suggest the skirt I knitted for you last Christmas?"

I scowl at my not-so-knew reflection in the mirror. I wore the same 'Wiggles' shirt, baggy camo-pants and deep red lipstick that was slightly smudged at the sides. My makeup was uneven and my two braids hung loosely over my shoulders. I knew I had pushed my luck with the shorts. My absolutely controlling mother never let me wear anything that showed my shoulders, knees or stomach. Pretty much anything! I looked at my twin sister sleeping on the bed. She faked flu just so she could miss the embarrassment at the party I was going to. I set my lips in a straight line so my mother wouldn't catch me wearing lipstick. "Curfew's at 8:30, dear." My mother called as I hurried out of the door.

I got into my mother's rickety car and drove to Hayley Stan's place a.k.a the Queen bee's house. As I knocked meekly on the cherry tree door I bit my lip, peeling the already chapped skin. A tall girl in a strapless black and white dress that stopped mid-thigh opened the door. "Hi Hayley!" I squealed, my voice dripping with fake sweetness. Her perfect nose scrunched up. "Who're you?" "Oh, I'm Mary-Lou, you could just call me Lou. Anyways I saw the open invitation at school so here I am." I grinned. She laughed blandly. "Sorry, but this party isn't open to people who are less popular than the hairballs in the bathroom. Sorry but not sorry hon" She slammed the door in my face and I could feel my eyes start to water as I turned away, hurt.

I balled up my hands in anger. Someday I'll be the hottest girl at school. Someday, I'll be the one they envy. Someday I'll be the queen. Someday, I'll be just like hell on heels.

A/N Shitty prologue but yeah. Next chapter still in construction :))
