"M--om what are you doing over here?"
I asked my mother who I saw after almost a week.

This is the first time I saw here displaying any emotion after Tanya's death and that was anger.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" She all but shouted.

I am not sure how she will react to what I have to say so I was contemplating whether to tell her anything or not.

Finally, deciding that I won't tell anyone about this I tell her,

"I was missing her so I thought that I'll spend some time here." I lied through my teeth.

Mom did not seem to believe it but she did not question further. My mother was a very different person she was never the one to hide her emotions, Tanya learnt to wear her heart on her sleeves from my mother.

But looking at her now, my mom looked like she lost a lot of weight and she was looking very frail. Her eyes showed emptiness.

I missed my mom. It feels like I not only lost my sister but also my parents.

As if sensing that my mom called me for a hug. I did not need any further call. I rushed into her arms and hugged her tightly as if she would just disappear.

"I missed you mom." I cried.

"Aww, honey I am here. I am so sorry." My mom said I could hear her voice quivering.

"Jiya, your dad and I have already lost one of our daughter and don't want to lose the other. Promise me you will be careful, we can't lose our other daughter now." My mom told me.

"I promise, mom I will be careful." I told her.

For the first time I saw so much of helplessness and vulnerability in my mom's eyes. She was always so strong and calm. I don't like seeing her this way.

Looking at her made me strengthen my resolve to find the culprit.

I will find that person. I promised my self.
