You stayed close to Fuu as we walked along the trail. She seemed more upset about Jin leaving than you thought she would be and you sort of felt guilty. Sara only picked Jin because she knew how you felt and Mugen but maybe it would've been better for him to go, after all you already concluded that he probably doesn't have the same feelings towards you that you have for him.
Pretty soon, it was daytime and the three of you had reached a town. Fuu fell to her knees sighing. "Can we take a break," she complained, "I'm exhausted!" You stopped and kneeled next to her but Mugen continued walking. "Where not gonna find your stupid flower samurai with you sitting around all day," he called back.
Suddenly, we hear a commotion going on behind us and hear people shouting. "What do you mean the bridge collapsed? Who was the person that they found?" You turn around when they mentioned a person and started to worry. Jin and Sara were going towards the bridge weren't they? Before you can finish your thought Fuu jumps up and begins running towards the bridge. "Fuu wait!" you yell and began to chase her.

It turns out the person by the bridge was Sara. She had been on it when it collapsed and some townspeople found her body in the river. Now the four of you sat in this little wooden shack that someone had let you use. Sara still hadn't woke up and Fuu was at her side taking care of her. On the other side of the room you sat away from everyone, watching Mugen play with Jin's glasses. You couldn't help but feel guilty about what had happened to her, but where was Jin? Had he been there when she was injured?
Suddenly the man who owned the cabin brought you guys some stuff and told you that we can stay as long as you needed to. Once he left Mugen jumped up and rushed out of the door. "Mugen, wait! Where are you going?" Fuu called him but he was already too far.
"I'll go follow him," you offered even though you weren't super excited to be alone with him. "Thanks so much (Y/n)," Fuu called and you rushed out the door.
Once you left you started thinking about where he could've ran off to. Maybe he had to go to the bathroom? No, he wouldn't go that far if he did. Or maybe food? No, even though he's greedy, he wouldn't of ran. As you were walking, the faint sound of rushing water interrupted your thoughts, then something clicked. He probably went to search for Jins body. With that information, you ran towards the water.
Sure enough, when you got to the river there was Mugen, wading through it and searching with his sword. You wanted to say something but you didn't know what, you weren't even sure if he wanted to talk to you so you decided to just help him search.
Rolling up your sleeves, you got into the water and tried to search but it was hard, considering you don't like being in water and all you had were your hands. Suddenly, the rushing water started scaring you, but you didn't know why. For some reason it gave you a sick feeling and you began to get dizzy. 'I'm gonna fall face first into the water...' you thought as you started seeing double. However, before you fell you felt arms wrap around you and everything went black.
***
When you woke up it was sunset and you were leaning against a rock. Looking around, you see Mugen sitting next to you, without his red shirt on. You realized that it was because he had given it to you to wear, no wonder you were so warm.
"What was the point of getting in the water if your just gonna pass out," he asked suddenly, sliding back so he was leaning next to you. "I didn't know I was gonna pass out..." you say quietly trying to defend yourself but you knew it was pointless. You sighed and stared at your feet, wishing you would've just stayed at the cabin with Fuu.
"I found Sara's junk in the river," he said suddenly, sliding her instrument over to you. You just nodded and continued to stare down at the ground. "I don't trust her."
Hearing that, you looked up at him and he was already looking at you. This was probably the first time you looked him in the eyes since what happened a couple days ago. He broke eye contact first as he slide closer to you then suddenly he put his arm over your shoulder. It was unexpected so you didn't know what to say.
"I think she knows something about what happened to Jin," he said staring off into the river, "and she's not telling us." You leaned back so your head was on his shoulder and closed your eyes. You can't remember the last time you had a good night sleep. "I think your right," you say mid yawn and drifted off to sleep.

"This is what I found in the river," you hear a voice say. Once again you woke up and it was dark, however, you knew you were in the cabin. You heard Mugens voice as he talked to someone, probably Sara. Then you heard her say something that you couldn't quiet hear as she left the room. Suddenly, you hear something crash and sit up quickly. Looking you see Mugen looking angry and standing over the fire. "What's wrong?" you ask holding your head but he didn't say anything, he just sat next to you. "You should go back to sleep."
"How did we get back to the cabin? And where is Sara going?" Mugen just sighed and pulled you so that you guys were laying down side by side. "I carried you back. And I don't know and I could care less where she's going." He was obviously frustrated and you wanted to help but you didn't know how. "Do you need anything or...?" you asked but he cut you off. "All I need is for you to stop asking questions, we'll figure everything out in the morning." You were too tired to argue so you decided to just do what he said. You were half asleep when Mugen calls you.
"Hey (Y/n)? Why did you faint in the river?" You roll over to face him. "Now your the one asking questions," you teased him, but he just rolled his eyes. "I don't know," you said honestly, "I just felt sick..."
"Maybe it has something to do with your past, we did find you washed up on the shore." You thought about it and it actually made sense. Now if only you could remember the rest of your past. "You still don't remember anything do you?" Mugen asked. He was leaning on one arm facing you. You shake your head no and close your eyes. Maybe if you tried hard enough you could dream about your past to help give you some clues, but you didn't get your hopes up. As you tried to sleep, you felt arms around you once again, already knowing who it is.
"Fuu is going to be mad at you," you tell Mugen without opening your eyes. "And what is she gonna do about it? " he asks pulling you closer, "Once you go to sleep I'll get up." Whatever you say." You tell him, and you drift off to sleep once more.
