Chapter 4: Late Night Talk

You 4 have been traveling with Sara for quite some time. You and Fuu would accompany her to her shows and Jin and Mugen would wait outside. Eventually, you guys reached another inn with a bath and decided to stay.
"Ok, me Sara and (Y/n) will stay in this room and you guys will stay in the next one," Fuu said to Jin and Mugen, who currently had his arm Sara. "Yeah yeah," Mugen said and he and Jin left. You layed down exhausted. Fuu also began setting up her place to sleep. "Hey Fuu," you asked making her look over at you. "What's wrong?" She asked coming over to where you were laying. "Nothing, I was just wondering where you guys were going before you found me." Fuu never said why her, Jin and Mugen were traveling all together.
"Well," Fuu starts off, "Jin and Mugen are helping me find a samurai who smells of sunflowers." "A sunflower samurai," You say confused, "why are you looking for him?" "Well I have something to settle with him," Fuu tells you then stands up. "I'm gonna go down to the hot spring, do you wanna come with?" You thought about it then politely declined. " No thanks," you say laying down, "I'm probably just gonna rest here for a bit." She nods then leaves the room.

It didn't take you long to fall asleep after Fuu left since you were exhausted from walking. As you slept, you dreamt about being on a boat. It was storming and you were arguing with a man who looks familiar but you can't remember the name. Suddenly the man pushes you into the water and you hear someone faintly calling your name. "(Y/n)....(Y/n)!"
You open your eyes and see Mugen sitting down looking at you. So the voice calling you wasn't just a dream.
"Mugen? What are you doing on here, and where are your clothes?" He only had a towel wrapped around his waist so you try not to look at him.
"I gotta talk to you," he says resting his elbows on his knees.
"And you have to do that naked?" You ask slightly annoyed, but Mugen just shrugs. "I just got out of the bath so I didn't go to my room yet, but anyway it's about Sara."
You look at him confused then think about the conversation you two had earlier. "Did something happen?" Mugen changes positions and lays down next to you. "No, I just think there's something she's not telling us."
"That's what I said!" You yell in frustration then quickly cover your mouth with your hands. You didn't know who was still up but you didn't want them hearing you. "Something about her seems off."
"Mhm" Mugen nods. He had his eyes closed and was laying next to your sleeping spot. "Do you think Jin can sense it too?" You ask yawning. You laid next to Mugen in your sleeping spot since you were still really tired. Mugen turns his head to look at you, then looks up at the ceiling. "I don't know," he shrugs, "but I don't really care, she's still hot...ow!" Mugen rubbed his arm where you had hit him. "What the hell was that for?"
"Stop talking like that," you say annoyed. You roll over on your side with your back facing him. You liked talking to Mugen but sometimes he was just plain irritating. You hear Mugen shift, then stand up. Next you hear footsteps then the door closing.
You roll over and sit up, staring at the door. What was his problem? Was he mad? No, that couldn't be it, you hadn't done anything wrong. Suddenly, the door slid open and Mugen entered. He was shirtless still but he was wearing his shorts and he had a smirk on his face. "What?" You ask confused. He walked over and laid back down next to you.
"What are you doing?!" You whispered harshly, "Fuu is going to kill you if she finds you I'm here." You didn't know how long she's been gone but she had to be on her way back anytime now. "Yeah yeah," Mugen says closing his eyes. You lay down facing him, "so what were you doing before you started Traveling with Fuu and Jin?" Mugen opened his eyes at that and turned his head to look at you.
"My past wasn't all that great," he says, which confused you. "What do you mean? Like was it bad or?" You didn't mean to pry but you were curious. The three are nothing alike yet they ended up traveling together. Mugen faced the ceiling and closed his eyes. "Let's just say it's not worth talking about, what about yours?"
"I don't remember," you admit honestly, you really wished you could.
You two sat in silence after that, and eventually you heard Mugen snoring softly. A couple minutes after you also fall asleep.

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING?!" Your startled awake by yelling and look and see Fuu clutching a towel to her body and blushing. It looks like she just got done with her bath. You couldn't tell if she was blushing because she was embarrassed or because of how mad she was at Mugen for being in here with me.
You sit up, not knowing what to say. It was pretty much exactly wage what it looks like, Mugen slept in your room, unless Fuu thinks something else happened. Mugen sat up lazily, rubbing his head. "What's your problem?" He asks annoyed. Fuu looked really mad now. "First you bother Sara, now you and (Y/n)..." You knew what she thought happened between you two and cut her off.
"Fuu nothing happened between us, really," you say in a calm voice but she wasn't listening. Suddenly the door slid open and Sara stepped in. "Is something wrong?" She asked. It was quiet then Mugen stood up.
"Nope, nothing," he said then exited the room.
