Chapter 3: Suspicious

The village was further away that you guys thought. You took a lot of stops just do you could get a break from walking. You were especially tired since you weren't used to walking for that long. Fuu was walking next to you and started asking questions all of a sudden.
"So (Y/n)," she started, making sure that Jin or Mugen couldn't hear, "Why did you and Mugen decide to sleep in the forest?" You were shocked by what she said and quickly tried to explain what actually happened.
"That's not it, we got lost and couldn't find our way back," you said frantically. You didn't want her thinking that you two snuck away together or something. "Oh, but you two were so close-" Fuu began but was cut off by Mugen. "Is that the place up there?" He yelled to us from in front and Fuu smiled and ran towards it. I sighed in relief and walked a little faster to follow her.
When we approached, we saw Fuu standing with the restaurant owner. He said that we could eat there for free so we gladly went inside. Fuu sat down on the end, then there was Jin, then Mugen. I sat between Jin and Mugen so I could avoid Fuus questions. Hopefully she would forget about the whole thing. As we were eating Mugen turned to me.
"So how did you end up on the beach?" He asked with his mouth full. I almost didn't understand him at first. I sighed and thought really hard about it. "I don't remember," I told him finally which he replied with why. I looked at him not knowing how to answer. "What do you mean why?" I ask, grabbing more food. "Why don't you remember," he said not thinking the question was strange, "did you fall of a boat or something?" "Mugen! Don't be rude!" Fuu yelled at him from the end. However, while they argued you were thinking about what Mugen said. "I think I did..." You say quietly making the two stop and look at you. "What do you mean?" Fuu asked you but Mugen responds before you can say anything.
"She said I was right," Mugen says smirking, making Fuu irritated. "Stop bothering her," you tell My Mugen, not wanting them to start arguing. "Whatever you say," he says smirking and you and you roll your eyes. Then the two of you turn your attention to the stage, where a woman had just started singing.
There was a lot of applause when she was finished."That was amazing," you say turning to Mugen who shrugged and continued to shove food in his mouth. The singer came and day down next to Mugen.
"I really liked your singing," Fuu told her and I agreed with her. However Mugen said that it was depressing which Fuu scolded him for. Suddenly these 2 guys from the Yakuza approached the singer and threatened her. "Leave her alone!" Fuu stood up and was ready to defend her but she told her to stay out of it. "I don't want your sympathy just because I'm blind," I was shocked at her words to Fuu and Mugen ended up scaring the gang members away. "I didn't do it out of sympathy," he tells the women, "You got a name?"
"Its Sara," she said quietly and the 5 of us began talking. It turns out she's a traveling singer and wants us to accompany her. "I'll pay for your room and board along the way," she says which I thought was weird. She barely knew us, so why would she do that? However, Mugen, Jin and Fuu were happy to accept her offer.

You guys have been walking with Sara for a while. It was silent for the most part except Fuu and Sara occasionally talking. You were still suspicious of Sara so you decided to ask Mugen how he felt about it.
"Hey Mugen," you say tugging on his shirt so he'll walk a little slower, "Can I ask you something?" He looked down at you and you two slowed down so the rest of the group couldn't hear you. "What do you want?" He said in the same lazy tone he always had. You motioned for him to lean down since he was a little taller than you. "What do you think about Sara?" You ask. Surely you can't be the only one who thinks there's something weird about her. Mugen smirked and looked down at you. "Why? Are you jealous?" He asked.
You look at him annoyed. "That's not what I mean," you say, "I mean isn't it weird that Sara wants us to come with her?" Mugen thinks for a second then shrugs. I don't know but we're getting free food on the way so I don't really care." You just sighed. Of course Mugen wouldn't care if there's food involved. You decided to just keep the thoughts to yourself after that. You didn't know what Jin would say and Fuu might bring it up to Sara.
"Its getting dark so we're going to stop at an inn up ahead!" Fuu calls back to me and Mugen. You nod and walk to catch up to them. "Come on," you say to Mugen, trying to get him to catch up too. You didn't want Fuu being suspicious of you two again. "For what?" He asks you, "there not that far ahead of us." You sigh and grab his arm. "Because we shouldn't be back here separated," you tell him pulling him along. "Your the one who brought us back here," he says. "I know that but now were going back up there," you reply annoyed, "Fuu might be worried." The others had already entered the inn and you didn't want to keep them waiting. "You worry too much," He sighs but let's you drag him into the inn.
