17: The first game.

Days later...

"Tiffany! Have a game later, right? We'll be watching." Some boys who were a year younger than her said. Tiffany clutched her books while looking down. Today is the day. She thought before sighing.

"Haven't you heard? There's a game later on with the girl's team." Someone whispered. Tiffany looked around and saw some girls gossiping about it. "Tiffany's the team captain, right? I wonder what would happen." Another one said. "I think they would win considering how Mina bragged about how they won last year when she lined the team." Another one said.

Tiffany looked away and continued walking. Her next class was philosophy. And half of the class was talking about the so-called 'big' game later on. They were all eager to know how the game would end up. In fact, they were all eager to know if Tiffany's team would win.

"Tiffany!" A boy yelled. She looked behind and saw Trace running towards her. "Good luck out there, champ." He grinned while bowing several times in front of her. "I know you would do great." He added as Tiffany tried letting out a small smile. "Thanks, Stevens." She mumbled before walking away.

"Hey, let me walk you to your next class. The field is not that far from yours." Trace said before taking Tiffany's books from her grip. "You have P.E?" She asked as Trace nodded. "Yeah, but currently, we're just gonna do some jogging at the field." He replied as Tiffany placed her hands at her back.

"Say, would it be okay if I'd walk you home later night after the game? I've seen you walking with that Travers guy some other nights and I was hoping if I could do it too. Just this night." Trace said, getting the feels that his face was turning literally red.

Tiffany looked at him and wondered what happened to him. As a matter of fact, Trace hates walking. Since he was rich, he's spoiled and he prefers riding a car when going home. She let out a sigh with a thought, What's up with boys asking me for a walk?

"I guess you could." She said as Trace grinned. "Anyways, we're just about here. The classroom is just around the corner and I can manage myself." Tiffany said, quickly taking her books before bowing down. "I guess I'll see you later then." She added before walking away.

Trace watched her walk away, as if he was watching the girl he loved the most disappear. The wind came, making Tiffany's hair dance in a graceful way. He felt nauseous and happy with the current view in front of him.

After 4 years of ignoring each other, Trace still had those feelings for Tiffany despite the cruelty.

Trace let out a small smile as Tiffany slowly took a glance at her back and when she saw that Trace was watching, she felt conscious. Trace let out a sigh before walking away, out to the open field.

If only you chose me back then then I could've given everything you wanted. And probably, one of them was happiness. Trace thought, letting out a deep sigh.

Tiffany let out a sigh while fully resting her back on the bleachers. It was now 3:32 in the afternoon and the game was on 4:30, giving them an hour to practice once more. She didn't feel anything. In fact, she just wanted to end the game right away.

They had no coach and one of the best members left the team. So how on earth were they gonna win? Just by luck, is that it? Tiffany knew from the start that they were gonna loose. She can just feel it, but by looking at the faces of the girls playing in front of her, she knew that at least they could try.

But then again, wouldn't that be a waste of time and effort?

No. It isn't, Tiffany answered. She let out a sigh before standing up and jogging her way towards the girls.
