III"Yuuri, come on, get up! It's Mikaelas turn!" Viktor called and knocked onto Yuuri's door. Due to time differences, it was about midnight in Japan, while Mikaela would be skating at 4pm, German time. Viktor had been really excited about seeing Mikaela skate in a competition and wanted to force everyone at Yu-topia Akatsuki to watch her performance. She was the second to last skater of the day.
Today was her performance of her short program. Half of the people who wanted to watch had stayed awake, but Yuuri had went to bed early out of god knows which reasons. He joined the rest, who had all gathered around the TV, in the main area. Gathered we're his family, Yuri, Viktor, Minako, Yuko, Takeshi, the triplets and of course Makkachin.
"Hurry up Yuuri, they're announcing her already!" Viktor said and pulled Yuuri to the seat beside him.
"And now, please welcome a woman who had extra come here from Japan as a hosts pick, Mikaela Lewis!" The words that were spoken were German but they had subtitles. They watched as Mikaela skated towards the middle, smiling at the audience.
Mikaela took a deep breath as she came to a stop in the middle. The hall went silent. She glanced over at Christophe, who had come to support her, who gave her a reassuring nod. Mikaela then folded her hands and looked down. The music started.
Downtown we let it go
Sunset high and our bodies low
Blood rush in the hazy glow
My hands, your bonesMikaela started with spreading out her arms, carefully, before pushing herself away from her spot and beginning to gracefully move on the ice. Her face held a soft expression, a single strand of her short hair hanging in her face, the rest was slicked back.
Loose up we break the scene
One step deep as you fall to me
Heart clap, we skip a beat
Count one two three"As far as we know, Mikaela has three quads planned, starting with a Salchow." The commentators said as the people gathered around the TV couldn't take their eyes of Mikaela. She had only just started and everyone was in her spell, even the Russian punk.
Mikaela took a deep breath. Her first quad was approaching with the music. On the three of the lyrics she jumped...and nailed the quadruple Salchow! The crowd cheered and Mikaela wanted to smile, but nevertheless did she continue to hold her soft but cold expression.
The triplets cheered and yelled "Way to go Mikaela-san!"
And don't you stop the music
Get into it
Won't you dance with me?The next few sentences of the song were spent with Mikaela gliding across the ice in a gracious, royalty like manner, dancing to the music. If someone wasn't caught onto her by now, something was clearly going wrong with them. Nobody could take their eyes of her, not even her fellow competitors. Nobody was able to deny that she was a beautiful figure skater.
Find a place and lose it
You can do it
Won't you dance with me?Move your feet and feel it in the space between
You gotta give yourself a moment, let your body be
We gotta lose it
We gotta lose itViktor placed a finger against his lips in thoughts as he watched Mikaela skate. She had so much grace in her step. Her current step sequence was beautiful. She was perfectly on time with the music, which had to give her extra points, at least in Viktor's point of view.
The way she just performed made him watch her so intently. He didn't hear what the others were saying around him, he just completely focused on the blonde woman performing her short program with unbelievable grace, which had to secure her the first place.
